I was researching motorcycle/backpacking combinations and ended up here....very impressed!

Both sound great, that rich, gritty eucalyptus tone is just on another level

I had a cardboard tube and gave it a go, I was amazed that it actually made a didge sound, be it a crap one. Later, I went down to the hardware store, bought a 40mm width, 1m PVC tube and a 40-30mm reducer, for attaching different lengths of PVC tube. It doesn't sound half bad. Later, I'll be getting a eucalyptus one.

Its harder to tell the difference in sound when you play them differently
@jessesmith99492 жыл бұрын
The main difference between termite made and man made, traditionally made yidakis have termite channels through the wood which creates that ancient sound as apposed to it smoothed out as a made one

It's about the vibration bouncing of the sides as it goes down so it's gonna be alot different between the two
@didgeproject2 жыл бұрын
Yes this is very true. The termite tracks hugely affect the sounds giving a more irregular bore for the sound waves to bounce off of. Thanks for your input!

You can make a "good" sounding didge out of anything.....as long as you put a lot of epoxy on and in it. Thats why Agave or Yucca sound so well....its actually plastic your playing with

You got some talent and your explanation was on point and clear. Nice video yubba PS what was that reverse Chewbacca sound at 5:02? That had me laughin

I'm not sure what mine is made out of but I bought it at the Renaissance festival in Texas and it's really hard like a bamboo stick.

Nice comparison! Still, I have a very light plastic didgeridoo which cracked when it fell to the floor, while my 14 lbs eucalyptus was fine when a similar event happened to it. Also, a heavy eucalyptus gives a superb resonance, which lighter didgeridoos do not have.

The only Eucs I like are the ones that have a decent mouthpiece, I just can't do the beeswax thing.

its definitely a matter of personal preference

@@didgeproject I know that but I think I have some sort of allergic reaction to it. I know their were some people who used to make mouth rings that can be placed on a beeswax mouthpiece. I don't think any US retailers sell them.

Are you kidding?? That is agave, not yucca!
@Jahnca6 жыл бұрын
You're wrong.The agave when dry have an external part of solid wood and internal part like sponge, really easy to carve.
@Jahnca6 жыл бұрын
You can also make djembe from the base of the bigger agave plants, but is non easy to clean from leaves. The yucca is great to make rain stick, instead.
