Eufy Security 2K Indoor Cam compatible with HomeKit!

In a past video I looked at the pan & tilt sibling of the security camera I take a look at today. Eufy by Anker has released some very compelling home security cameras and this one is no different. In this video I’ll unbox, setup, and take a look at it’s HomeKit capabilities and compare the footage with the pan & tilt version. This camera retails for $39.99 which is as affordable as HomeKit Secure Video cameras come. So how does this indoor cam hold up next to it’s pan & tilt counterpart, let’s take a look!

I got the doorbell and it was so simple I installed it myself (and I nearly need to pay someone to tie my shoes 🤪). Given that, I ended up also getting 2 pan and tilts and they were foolproof also).

I got the Netatmo indoor camera because when I bought it, it was the only indoor camera with HKSV at the time. Now there seem to be more to buy so I'm thinking about buying this or the Eve. Good vid!

Great video & very informative. I set mine to be off when I’m home and stream & record in HomeKit. However when away, it doesn’t change when I leave or return. Have you experienced this or do you always keep it on?

Yes only SD card and iCloud if you enable HomeKit Secure Video. You can download captured footage onto your mobile device or record manually but not monitor. Thanks for watching! 🙏

Yes, it will take redundant video. I’ve found recording starts at the same time but when the systems decide to stop recoding varies. HomeKit Secure Video stops recording sooner than Eufy. Thanks for watching! 👍

When you were showing the two camera views with the Pan & Tilt on one side and the Indoor camera on the other side. My question is what was the video resolution in the video. Was that 1080P or 2K?

Video resolution was 1080p as that’s the highest resolution HomeKit Secure Video supports.

I have the PT version and really like it. I was planning on buying a couple more but this one is like $10 cheaper and could save me $20. My question is, do you miss the PT function with this? I have mine set to follow but sometime it stays in a position that isn't looking where I want it to and it's annoying to go into the Eufy app to fix it. BUT, I feel like I might be missing something if I give it up. Great review and timely for me!

Great question and honestly I have one of my pan and tilts set to auto follow and the other set as stationary. Kinda defeats the purpose I know but I don't think I'll miss the pan & tilt with this. It all depends on your usage and you can't really go wrong with either. Thanks for watching!

Functions are mostly the same. The EufyCam Pros record to the remote hub and can now be recharged with their new solar panels. Really depends on your needs. Thanks for watching!

You should have a version specific for your region. The only requirement is good wi-fi coverage and a connection to the internet.

As long as you have good internet connection at either end, then you should be able to check the cameras while remote. If you’re on HomeKit you’ll need a home hub for remote viewing.

i saw in another review that there is no 2-way audio for both these eufy cams in homekit. given that u call this a show “homekit sweet home” don’t u think it is important that this should be mentioned for viewers relying on your review? i’d have gotten this cam and regretted it if i had just based my expectations of it just solely on video review. i understand that not having 2 way audio in homekit may not be a dealbreaker for some, but i just feel as a homekit focus vid, it must be said. sorry man, as much as i like most of your other vids i’d have to give this a 👎🏼.
