I only just got the Eufy Base 2, and 2k Door bell recently. If I hadn't done so, I would be getting their Base 3, and cameras. I am going to get the camera's to add to the Base2, and update to the Base3 at a future date. I do love the ecosystem, and the performance it gives. Interesting review. Thanks.

Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.

Gotta admit, pretty impressive set of features for this system, my favourite is independent operation and local storage without subscriptions, solar power assisted cameras, extended camera compatibility and feature rich app. Yes a bit pricy but eventually will offset the cost of most mandatory subscription kits and in long term can be justified. Good job Eufy

I have had plans to add a security camera at home before, but ... before this one none of them seemed to me good enough. It's now autumn, so there are a lot of cloudy days, and the battery has now dropped to 49%, which is still very good. Image quality is impressive and I love how quickly it responds to moving objects and streams to the app. One of the best devices tested this year.

Can we connect the home base and the camera different networks and does the camera needs to be within certain range from the home base please?

Everyone should know the shortcomings of this camera system. The active area is the bottom half of what is in the camera view. This means that is will only detect things once they enter the bottom half of the view. (and this itself is very hit and miss). So if the bottom part of the view is your car, (but the top half contains the pavement and the driveway that leads to your car. You will only be notified once they are at your car. Your neighbours could have a barbecue on your drive and you would never be notified. Also the cameras have to be mounted very low on the wall to combat the previous issue. I’m talking about a height that would be reachable! Also their customer support is laughable. At least in the UK. They invariably do not understand what is being put to them. I asked them a question about a feature of the camera and they replied saying “I’m sorry you have a fault with your camera”. I asked them to advise me how to return a doorbell to them as it was no longer needed due to the whole system being returned to the retailer I bought it from and they replied saying they wanted me to return the system to them and that they would send out a replacement. This was after they had told me the camera would not work at my property, because of the initial issue I described above. They are a joke!

Does the Eufy 3 still have the fatal "sync button" issue where a thief can just grab a camera, press and hold the sync button which then deletes all the footage from that camera from the HomeBase without even having to go inside and even find it? Which totally defeats the purpose of a "security" system. Eufy has been aware of the issue since Jan 2021 and as of Nov 2022 still has not been willing to fix it. Though I am not sure if Eufy 3 is also affected by this. Nobody seems to have tested this.

As far as I know - it will take a while until there is compatibility with current devices. But it should be able to connect to all existing Eufy Security cameras.

Hey Gerald, good questions! Yes, the delay is around 2 seconds like most similar motion detecting cameras. The Wi-Fi range can be up to 100 meters in case there are no walls in-between. I'd recommend avoiding running the camera with weak signal, as it worsens the battery life. I managed to run it between 3 walls - was not stable at times. Wifi supports both 5G and 2.4G, I'd prefer the 2.4G because of the better wall penetration.

Just know all your footage goes to servers in China for “notifications purposes”. Including from your living room. Also, it’s possible to start a direct and unencrypted stream with VLC. Also, thieves can just delete the cam and the footage with the SYNC.
