there is a big difference between a deeply felt original interpretation and an interpretation that’s created by doing a bunch of random stuff just to seem original. I feel like he’s definitely in the second camp, but to each their own…

Oh Gosh.. Playing clearly out of tune with very poor quality of the bow technique - is that considered to be the original version of the piece in question? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Oh yes, we need more players with clean intonation and QUALITY bow technique. This man is aiming for expression, not perfection. If you want to hear clean performances, there are plenty to choose from.

@@humbleman5612 Yes, this point of view is very much aligned with modern standards of interpretation, driven by perfection of studio recordings. I personaly disagree with that direction completely. The art of real depth is never perfect and clean. Intonation and bow articulation are expression tools, not an index of, so-called, quality. Applied to Dmitry, it is not, that he can't play clean, but he is choosing not to and i appreciate it a lot!

You think he’s choosing to play out of tune? I mean, I can play this piece really out of tune, maybe I should compete 😝… I mean if you’re tired of hearing it played in tune.
