Wow! Mr. Krzysztof! Young man! What the heck?! That was awesome!!! Please read my comment that I posted to @kcr9724 . I hope you love playing as much as you are musical. Not only do you have the command of your instrument but you are definitely communicating musical ideas that are elusive to most players. That you did this at such a young age is mind-blowing, sensational! Shockingly great! (In 2024, this video was posted 8 years ago) I truly hope that you are enjoying life whether you continued playing or not. (But I hope you're still playing so the world can hear you.) All the best to you.

I don’t understand how this isn’t a grade 1 solo

Late reply but it’s because it’s simple rhythmicly of course, but it takes a skilled musician to really feel the music and master intonation, vibrato, dynamics, and musicality in general. I’m 12 and I learned this song in and out in 5 minutes, but it’s not music if no one can feel it.

@@kcr9274 Your comment is spot on! This is the kind of piece that can be played by an intermediate player or a master. There is strength as well as tenderness in this piece that makes it special and elusive to most players. This bari player gets it though. Not only does he have an incredible claim to the instrument but he IS musical. He 'gets' it. Music is feeling and some have it and some don't. This guy has the command needed but also the sensitivity needed to pull it off -- otherwise it's just notes on a page. In other words, he is musically mature -- not to mention that his breathing is super-human! Unfortunately yellowcactus may not ever have tried to breathe through this piece on any wind instrument. It's a monster to breathe through unless played too fast. As you say, the notes can be sight-read but to really play this piece, you have to have exactly what you mentioned in your comment 3 years ago. Cool that you figure that out at such a young age. I hope you're still playing. Cheers!
