⏺️What is Euler or Venn diagram of probability?
⏩In probability, a Venn diagram is a
figure with one or more circles inside a rectangle. The rectangle represents the sample space or the universal set, which is the set of all possible outcomes. Each event is represented by a shape, often a circle. The area inside the shape shows the outcomes included in the event, and the region outside the shape shows the outcomes that are not in the event.
Venn diagrams are used to state the probability of or predict the possible outcomes of one or more events occurring. To do this, you need to have a completed Venn diagram to be able to calculate probabilities from.
Euler diagrams are similar to Venn diagrams, but tend to be more complicated. They often show subsets as well as intersection and union. In a Euler diagram, the size and shape of the circles/ovals is not important. What is important is how they overlap or do not overlap.
