Richard, you continue to impress me with how well you explain games on both a macro and a micro level. I learned a lot by watching this. And I like how you put the allegiance tokens on the tracks themselves!

I saw another review before this one and it was presented in such a dry manner that I decided I didnt like the game and wouldnt buy it .I suddenly saw that Rahdo had done a review on this game and so I immediately watched it, as I like Rahdo's way of presenting and explaining game rules-he just makes it playable.Now I have background detail on it...now i get ...I change my mind,I will buy this game :)

Kudos for this awesome runthrough. It really made me understand the theme of the game and how well the mechanics fit. My best friend received his Kickstarter Deluxe version of Euphoria a few weeks ago and last weekend we had a 4-player session of the game. I liked the mechanics but couldn't get into the theme and didn't understand what the mechanics were supposed to represent. Now that I watched this runthrough, it clicked, everything suddenly makes sense and I have a new appreciation of the game.

Extra points for mentioning Huxley's Brave New World, Rahdo. I love the premise of that as well as Orwell's 1984, but I find them a bit of a rough read. (Different idea, but I'm more of an Atlas Shrugged fan.) Anyway, thanks a bunch for doing this runthrough. I'm very interested in this one and I'm sure I'll have a copy soon enough.

Got it on the table now for first game. Thanks for this run through. Really makes it much clearer than only going through the rulebook. The only difference between the ks version and retail are the special gold bricks and ore tokens. Thankfully, I got the second addition with the 16 fixed faction cards.

This game is very fun and fantastic. There are still some minor things that confuse me after my first game of it that's basically how some things are worded but overall this game is gorgeous and well done. I am so glad I paid extra to get the deluxe version of the game.

It just occurred to me: Regarding the push spaces, since you can push other players out of those spaces to reap the benefits, doing so gives the opponent their dice back, doesn't it? And if that's the case, is it possible for 2 or more players to just repeatedly push each other in and out of one push space without the round ending?
@rahdo9 жыл бұрын
Petros Lee yup, and that's a viable strategy for the game if you can cooperate with one of your opponents that way, and the gae encourages that sort of thing
@SirKnightPetros9 жыл бұрын
***** Ah, got it. Thanks for your reply! Watching your videos has become part of my daily routine along with visiting Amazon, BGG, and Kickstarer hahah. Keep up the great work :)
@NeverTheSame9 жыл бұрын
+Petros Lee It wouldn't actually prevent the round from ending. When you push someone else's die out of a space, they get it back and reroll it, but they can't use it again until their next turn. So all it really does is delay their need to retrieve worker dice.
@StefanLopuszanski11 жыл бұрын
Do you actually put a star on the building and remove the negative? When I was taught the game you add the star in the "star spot" to the side and you don't remove the negative. I'll have to check the next time I play, but I didn't see any notes so I assume your method is correct?
@rahdo11 жыл бұрын
yup, when you give up artifacts at one of the "prebuilt markets", you have the choice of adding a star to the "6 spot thing" or instead to one of the markets you missed out on previously. very important ability!
@StefanLopuszanski11 жыл бұрын
***** Thanks, definitely will point that out the next time we play. Also, as a fellow game designer, I do agree that the "rolling doubles lets you place both" rule seems weird. It is highly random and significantly powerful for what is otherwise a fairly typical Euro game. Wonder if removing that rule would make the game more interesting... although I still have some problems with the whole "push your luck" aspect of getting more workers -- maybe "you can pay to keep them if you roll too much" as another variant. Definitely curious to see if they do anything with this game in the future.
@johncodmore2 жыл бұрын
@@StefanLopuszanski An oft played varient rule, in the rulebook, says you have to use 1 morale for each worker you use after the first in this instance.
@JWolfenator11 жыл бұрын
Uncheck, share on G+ when commenting, or edit your share preferences on G+. Anyway I also have the game and I'm pretty sure that when you retrieve workers you immediately roll them and then you compare only your available workers to the knowledge chart. Reason I mention this I think "bump" is looked on as retrieve so you did not roll Jen's 2 when you bumped it (22:57). Regardless of her using it to build a Market it should have been rolled and all available workers compared. Not placed workers.
@rahdo11 жыл бұрын
actually, since i'm starting to get a lot of followers (or circles or whatever they're called) on G+, i'm trying to ensure that they get updates like Facebook & Twitter does. I guess commenting on my own video when I post it is the easiest way to do so? Yes, whenever you retrieve workers for any reason (bumps, getting new ones, using retrieve action) you always roll and check value to see if you hit 16 (ignoring dice that are still on the board). Sounds like I goofed there? Will go check and add notes :)
@jameystegmaier11 жыл бұрын
***** "Yes, whenever you retrieve workers for any reason (bumps, getting new ones, using retrieve action) you always roll and check value to see if you hit 16 (ignoring dice that are still on the board)." That is precisely correct. :)

@clumsydad71588 жыл бұрын
the "future" theme is one I didn't realize has been missing from gaming, so it is cool Jamie tackled that concept. The one issue for me is that it takes a turn to get your dice back, so you sit and wait while others play, almost like "lose your turn".
