I love how he even trims the branches that stick too far up after he securely placed them in the dam. There's plenty of them where I live, too, but they are very shy and skulky. I've only seen them a handful of times while photographing waterfowl or kingies from a hide. Great capture! Also, I had no clue corn crakes live so close to water, after all they are not exactly a wetland species.
