The nest is probably the most beautifully constructed I've seen. Perfectly flat base, uniform side wall of very nice greenery wrapped around a feature tree trunk, wall a nice safe height with a practical gap just wide enough to allow for easy landing and departure, and unusually clean and tidy. Really a beautiful nest.

Almost a nice place to for a good nights sleep on a nice summer evening, a good pillow and a light blanket, owlets cuddling and father owl telling stories

I find it crazy how some people think they know how to raise these owlets better than their parents.

it is a matter of survival so not mean just wanting to make sure they survive - have to fight for what they need

Not the loving sibs you see in some nests! Even when food wass stolen in the Barred Owl nest I recently watched the owlets still got along pretty well. The two having the food stolen by the oldest unified! I wonder if that is coincidence or do youngsters know to band together against the bully?!

Because of their being green conifer branches in the nest, I strongly believe this nest is man made! It would be too difficult for these birds or Eagles to break green branches off a tree. Good idea and great nest design.

She should tear the mice up and give some to each.
