I keep poultry and have never had any problems with sparrowhawks. They are far too small to kill most poultry though they can kill young birds or quail

they are only a threat to Hatchling and up to about 4 weeks old. We have Eurasian Sparrow Hawks here where I live in Australia and I have both chickens and Roosters. The free range around my yard. I have never seen the Hawks get a baby chicken yet. There are so many sparrows around I guess they don't need to. Or maybe they are scared off by the number of Chickens and roosters. I have seen our local hawks catch Sparrows. I have a video of one eating a sparrow on the roof of my car. (I don't think it's on my channel, I can't remember). The Hawks we have locally, in the right light, look like they have a golden orange/red color in the upper breast area when they take flight. Edit: I do not have the video of the Hawk eating the sparrow. I should find that and upload it. But I do have a very short video of the Male sitting on my neighbor's roof having a rest. It's from 9 years ago, wow time flies.
