This series is absolutely gorgeous is both visuals and music. Studio Bones' crowning achievement, in my opinion. First opening is "DAYS" by FLOW. It's about bittersweet nostalgia. Second opening is "Shonen Heart" by Home Made Kazoku. It's about holding on to your inner youth and passion, even as you grow up. Yeah, the visuals don't quite work along with the song for this opening sequence, but the song itself works well. As an opening sequence as a whole, DAYS works a lot better, it's true; I can't hear the start of DAYS without picturing the shimmering Trapar waves in my mind. Third opening is "Taiyou no Mannaka e" by Bivatchee. The title means "to the center of the sun". It's about personally growing from your experiences, both good _and bad,_ to reach new heights. Fourth opening is "Sakura" by Nirgilis. It's about love and trying not to lose it. The three little kids (Maurice, Linck, and Maeter) are a direct reference to Katz, Letz, and Kika from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and would you believe me if I said they're FAR better executed characters here than in MSG? There are other homages to the original Gundam, too, like some people referring to Nirvash, the main mecha, as "the white devil". Yes, the LFOs and KLFs bleed. It is a thing, and there's a reason for it.

This show is amazing, my first experience with it was pure magic. The fourth opening is my favorite. I wouldn’t say mecha is dying; it’s not as popular as in the past, but it’s still going strong. This year alone we’re getting a lot of good mecha shows.

Eureka seven is my favourite anime I use to watch this anime back in 2014 and I I’m 17 so I watched this anime 8 years ago and it holds a special place in my heart

Nice reaction and commentary as always, keep up the good works :D As for recommendation for mechs, i would like to recommend Cross Ange (There's two opening) or Valverave the Liberator (Two season with one opening each), both of this title made by Sunrise studio which also made Gundam series and Code Geass

Currently rewatching Eureka7 now. Back when I watched it on adult swim; sonically, I found similarities between the 1st op of Eureka7 and the 1st op to Code Geass. I now found out that it was done by Flow. Songs by flow: COLORS DAYS

Code Geass took a ton of inspiration from Eureka Seven. Some of the mech designs are almost directly lifted and the English dub even cast Johnny Yong Bosch as the male lead.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time, it has its flaws but the journey is worth it! For more mech recommendations i would say the macross series, all of the macross shows have great openings but it can be a hit or miss for people since it has idols in it.

Why a lot of mecha shows feature teenagers or kids as the protagonists? Cause a lot of the times mecha can be an allegorie for finding your purpose or channeling your passion trough some kind of productive vehicle, and those types of narratives are a lot more relatable to teenagers than to any other demographic. There also are a ton of mecha shows with adult protagonists.
