Real fairytale.. 🇩🇰 Denmark wasn't supposed to compete in Euro 1992 after failing in the qualifiers.. But, everything happens for a reason, as Uefa abandoned yugoslavia from participating due to the civil war in the country.. From there, 🇩🇰 Denmark players were in holidays and had several days to prepare for that major tournament, Euro 1992, held back then in the neighbourhood, Sweden .. Drawing 0-0 vs England in the opener, and losing 0-1 vs the host, Sweden, in the second game, denmark was on the adge of getting out from group stage .. But, winning 2-1 vs France in the last game, gave Denmark the opportunity to grab a,spot in semi final vs the title holders, the Netherlands 🇳🇱 .. There, the match endwd 2-2 after extra time, and the Danish keeper, Schmeichel, denied the penalty kick of Netherlands amazing striker, Marko van Basten, sending Denmark to the finals through penalties.. In the final, the Danish faced a huge task vs the world champions, a mighty German team .. Once again, and against all odds, the Danish reveiled, winning 2-0, with goals from Jensen & Wilford, lifting Euro 1992 title in a very strange way .. And that was the fairytale of Denmark in Euro 1992.. great memories, bizarre champion, the Danish back then shocked the world & themselves ❤ ❤❤
