2:33 correction Bergwijn was playing really well against Romania. His task was to play on the inside so Dumfries could make hus runs. And it absolutely worked like gold It just happened to be Bergwijn's first match since February (!). He picked up some pains. Yeah plus there we did the tactical switch. With Depay dropping to make the box and Maalen staying forward. Where as against Turkey we stayed the same formation just juggled the players around. With Depay going 10 and Simons right wing and making the box just like Bergwijn.

I'm an England apologist so I think they'll go through, but their final performance really depends on who goes through in France vs. Spain. If France go through, then I genuinely think it's a battle of luck and moments FC. If Spain go through (which I think is the most likely), then we might as well just skip the game and say congratulations to the tapas terrorists because that team is going to run through the English defense.

Bergwijn wasn't substituted because he was playing badly, but because of issues with his fitness. I would argue that he actually has played fairly well, especially against Romania. He is good at playing more narrow and allowing Drumfries to get high and wide on the pitch.

I fear that you might be right about the Netherlands. They're definitely trending in the right direction and I think they might have enough about them/England don't have enough to get the job done. I think we're trending upward as well (very small sample size) but the floor was so low that I'm not sure it will be enough. Hopefully a really good penalty shoot-out win can give them an emotional and psychological boost.

They and Germany have been the two best teams from the start, but sadly, met too early. The Netherlands have been interesting to watch, but not sure they could cope with the skill that Spain possesses. England could beat the Dutch, but they would either have to improve and have some more good fortune. They did manage to edge a good Swiss side, but the Netherlands have shown real quality and versatility in the past two games.

I think this story is not really breaking international news. but the reason Weghorst gets subbed in after half-time is because that is when he is most effective. He does not have the stamina to play a full match at the pace he does in the end of a match. Furthermore he pumps himself up during the match and then explodes onto the pitch. This is part of the reason why he is so effective in the late parts of each match. And the reason Koeman does not start him.
