Love the Fly Rod! Awesome video! I cannot wait to get out and cast this year!

Thanks man! I'm still getting used to casting this one (especially with the euro nymphing line- 14 foot mono at the end of a mono core line PLUS the sighter material and leader is strange) but it is so much fun and buttery smooth when a fish is on!

Never tried euro nymphing, let alone for panfish. But looking at trying it for grass carp and koi 😊

Man I would love to get on carp on this rod! It's a 10 foot 9" but it's a 2 weight so that would be wild!

That is no lie 😁. And you would have a field day with some big carp on that outfit 👍

Nice video! Quick questions, what weight/line type and are you just slowly drifting the nymphs? I'll hit that like button too!

Thank you for the support! To start off, the rod is a 2 weight but the line is Rio Technical Mono Nymph Line amzn.to/3o37ebc (this is an affiliate link if you are interested in it). It does not have a line weight listed because it is a mono core line. The front 14 feet are straight mono then it is coated mono core at .023 inch(.588 mm). It can be a tad tricky but it is SO sensitive! I love it! As far as the drift goes, the river is running towards me and to the right (the wind is blowing to my left so it looks odd). When the nymphs it the water I drop the tip of the rod to allow the nymphs to sink without laying the line on the water, and then lift to get tight. The river was slowly bringing them towards me so I was hand winding the slack to maintain contact/stay tight to the nymphs. I hope this helps and good luck to you!

@@KissTheFish thanks for the info. I have been using a 10' 2wt with a similar line. I wasn't sure if you were in a river or a resevoir, but this helps me understand. Thank you!

So, Ive never tried euro nymphing. What all is involved?
@KissTheFish Жыл бұрын
It's a style of nymphing where you maintain tight contact with the flies by leading them with the rod (vs tradtionally having slack or mends in the line for a natural presence). Because of that it is sometimes called contact nymphing. You have your fly as close to the bottom as possible and you feel it (through the line and rod) bouncing off of rods and fish hitting. You usually use longer rod at a low weight (like this is a 10' 9" 2wt) to feel the strike. Instead of an indicator, you use sighter material (different colored lines) to limit your presence. You don't lay line down on the water usually since you are leading and don't to spook the fish. Thin/narrow quick sinking flies are key to getting down low. There are way better explanations out there but that is the just of it.
