This performance of Brahms' 2nd symphony by the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta is an absolute revelation. The pacing is perfect and the nuances of the phrasing show how this symphony was meant to sound. The true magic begins as soon as 6:12. What I would give to have been at that concert!

I have always admired Mehta's Brahms. With the orchestra that debuted under Arturo Toscanini's baton, there is so much history that comes through. Mehta's association with the Israel Philharmonic is longer than Eugene Ormandy's was with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Mehta is often overlooked, injudiciously, but this recording (and so many others) is a testament to his greatness.

It's always a sad storty. The BIG question is DID SHE RECEIVE ANY VACCINATIONS SINCE BEFORE HER ILLNESS BEGAN AND ALSO SINCE BIRTH. ALSO DID HER MOTHER RECEIVE ANY VACCINES (E.G., THE FLU VACCINE), WHILE PREGNANT?
