Great interview and what a nice guy Brendan is! I did have 2 questions about the desert map. 1) Would there be desert themed/appropriate clothing available in game? 2) Would the electrostatic gas cloud that slowly killed all players outside the playzone be replaced by a sandstorm type deal with reduced visibility along with the damage?

A sandstorm would be great, and it'd come with an excuse to gradually reduce visibility the farther you are from the point too, which could shake up that whole sitting and sniping thing that's becoming more common.

SONEI, the desert map will be around the same size as the current one. Perhaps even slightly larger if the hard borders are cliffs and already obscure the horizon.

That's the point. For some people it does for some it doesn't. I have issues with textures not loading 50% of the time for the first minute and game crashing every 10th game. Friend with crappy laptop runs it fine.

Or don't render things you don't see. I ripped some 3D scenes from an old Tomb Raider game to get the player model, and I was surprised the faces where the texture's normal vector points away from the camera weren't even rendered. So nothing you saw on the screen has a back half. Basically almost half of the scene can be spared.

The game is poorly optimized and still has a lot of bugs. But let's add micro transactions, different guns, another map, and a vaulting anim? When will an EA game actually do something smart? Sure the sales are high, but fads die eventually. Some AAA company will make a better BR game sometime soon, and they may fuck some things up, but it will destroy h1 and PUBG.

Disappointed that you didn't press the performance/ engine issue when it was brought up in the discussion, it's a topic that I think most people are concerned about as the game is really stiff and runs like shite to be quite frank.. We haven't really heard about what kind of tweaks will be coming to performance, player movement (jumping and it's interaction with low objects in particular) etc. Perhaps something to think about on the next interview.

Id love a snow map, or a jungle map. Maybe one thats strictly night time where night vison comes in play. There needs to be a game like this but also with wild life that can harm you as well. I want them to put in the ability for environmental changes. What I mean is that players have the ability to damage building and the landscapes. This would provide players to set traps and give players more opportunity for strategies. You could plant a bomb on a car or topple a building, move a crate, broken cars, make an alternate entrance to buildings, blow a bridge.

It isn't a primal thing, a default option of a game to be out on the ps. I was surprised when they announced the xbox version. It isn't easy to aim in this game even with a correct mouse. It uses things like bullet falling and travel time to be more realistic and challenging. Then you can't just put an autoaim on it. That would ruin the whole point of this shooting system. Playing with potato aim sticks on a controller seems to be impractical.
