Religious fanatics emigrate to secular (~ish) countries, have children and raise them pious. Second-gen immigrants are the most susceptible to radicalization because their parents do not instill enough patriotism / acceptance for their country. These children grow up then wish to return to their parents homeland because they don't fit in with the natives, but when they arrive at parents home country, they often realise that they had an idealized version of it in their head. So they become angry at the government of their birth country because it's the comfortable thing to blame. I do not agree or find the words of that child psychologist credible. Witnessing unspeakable war horrors as a child definitely shapes a personality, and it has been documented that growing up in a war torn area has a tendency to radicalize.

Western European countries are finally doing something good by ignoring these "people". They should actually pay the Kurds, Iraqi and Syrian government for getting rid of the ISIS members. In Iraq and Syria they actually get a fair sentence and get what they deserve. Which is either death penalty or life imprisonment. In Europe they would get maximum of 10 years in prison, and would continue their terrorist activities.

The problem is even if they can take the children back, who is going to take care of them? Authorities, who have a bad records already with child care? Why do we chose to give more grace to the sons and daughters of terrorists than we give to sons and daughters of drunks, drug adicts who also have dependents that would need help ?
