We love Disney too and have been to Orlando many times but we discovered Europa Park a couple of years ago ( recommended by Themepark Worldwide ) and we love it almost as much as Disney. Some of the rides are actually superior to Disney and I feel the fairytale theming is more authentic because of the Grimms and black forest connection. I think your nieces would love it.

That was so interesting; I thought the theming/ landscaping was amazing, really well done, but it was funny to see the similarity in the rides; the Haunted mansion type ride was hilarious right from the beginning lol. Loved this vlog. It looks like there’s a lot there for all ages. We are booked for Orlando Disneyworld in Feb 2025 our first visit since 2020 just before it shut down. It will be our 18th visit in 25 years, just love it, and this time will be the first with our new granddaughter. Thinking Europa will be a great place to try maybe for Halloween next year. i really dont think it is. Its lacking a lot of the Disney Magic and the Shows are worse. I also feel like that other then the roaller coasters, alot of the attractions arent that well made in comparison. I'm from germany and been in both, Disney is def more expensive, but much more of an experience. I also miss the closing show :)

I don’t think I had ever heard of this theme park, but it did look like it gave you plenty of choices of things to do. I think the big negative for me would be the lack of air-conditioning in any of the buildings. That would probably matter less if you went at a cooler time of year.

Actually you can get to the park without a car quite easily. The next train station is Ringsheim, which is connected to the park by bus. This is now even served by ICE and TGV high speed trains which offer direct service to the rest of Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. There is even a direct TGV train with a stop at Disneyland Paris. The nearest airport is Basel and Swiss Railways have introduced a dedicated train service that leaves from Basel in the morning just in time to arrive at Ringsheim for the park opening. Of course there is another train in the evening to take you back to Basel.

Ricky Mouse 😂 This is my most favorite park, I love the vast amount of attractions, the theming, to have Europe all in one, and the resort hotels. And you see the love of the owners for their park in every corner with so many little details. I agree some ideas (esp the attractions from the 80s such as Geisterbahn, the former Eurostar and pirates; and the mascot) are inspired by Disney but I do not mind ;) Additionally, we do have Snorri ❤🐙 Edit: I think you can get Sheperds Pie, Irish Stew and Bangers & Mash in the O' Mackays.

There’s so many big rides there so it’s not much different to other theme parks. There’s tons of kids areas because of how big the park is so it’s great for all ages

It really isn’t just aimed at kids. It has a number of big rollercoasters including the newly opened Voltron, Silver Star (the fourth biggest rollercoaster in Europe), Wodan (one of the best wooden coasters in Europe) and Blue Fire which is a decent launch coaster. In addition to these it has many mid level rides and then lots of family and kid rides. It’s an ideal park for everyone to be honest and comfortably better than anything we have in the UK.

We didnt do a lot of the bigger rides tbf as we arent huge roller coaster fans. We prefer the ambiance, looking around, some smaller interesting rides etc. It definitely has bigger thrill rides we just tend to avoid them these days

Sorry I didn’t really explain myself, I was not saying that British parks are any better but the theming and some of the rides looked similar. Due to a bad back and a life long inner ear problem I can’t go on large rollercoasters or anything that spins or swings so I quite enjoy gentle rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean and the Peter Pan Ride in Disneyland Paris.

Disney actually copied Germany for a lot of their themes the Brothers Grimm were the writers of Snow White , sleeping beauty etc . If Nick and Leigh only took the time to inspect the Irish pub from inside they would have found the complete menu, including shepherd's pie and Bangers & Mash. In Spain there is a full service restaurant where you can get paella, sangria and lots of other Spanish food. Go to Scandinavia for the "Fisk Huset" (or Fish House), or to Austria for a Wiener Schnitzel. Do you prefer an authentic Raclette? Then just head for Switzerland. The list goes on and on as there are so many eateries with different offerings. Arguably the food offerings in England are not among the best they have, but who knows, maybe this is just an attempt of Europa-Park to add some immersiveness to their England pavilion.
