It makes me so happy you guys go to the museum of science and industry every year to see the trees! I did that as a kid with my family and it was always a highlight of my year. ❤🎄

What a fun unit study! MSI’s Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light display is one of the things I miss most about living in Hyde Park. It’s so lovely!

I really enjoyed living in Hyde Park! I lived there for 5 years when my husband was in graduate school.

@ No way! I was working at a nonprofit there and living just south of 57th when I met my now-wife, who was a grad student at UChicago as well. We spent the bulk of our Chicago years in HP. Really loved it there! Small world!

Maybe you can find something about Heidi for Switzerland? Or about St. Nicholas? Both Germany and Switzerland celebrate him on December 6th. Kids leave their boots in front of their doors, and Nicholas brings them sweets and mandarins.

I saw that, but we did a St. Nicholas study last December so I was trying to find something we haven’t covered yet. I appreciate the suggestion though!

Hi Michelle, since you'll be studying Germany - would you be open to receiving a Christmas card from here? (I couldn't find a way to send you a private message, sorry)

It’s a lovely suggestion, but I am not comfortable sharing my home address. I really appreciate you offering ❤️

@@michellegfTotally understand! I really like how you're protecting your children's privacy, too! 😊
