I agree with your comment about the 2 seconds of gilded talent. However, the goal by G. Muhren was not necessarily "belittling", I'd say, as the ball went in off a double ricochet. Luck more than skill.

Maybe so, kingwilson, but the game itself truly was belittling. This was a very important moment, actually. It was the moment that Ajax stopped being an underdog against Real Madrid. The David and Goliath narrative that had defined the old view of these teams no longer applied, or were possibly even reversed. It was the moment that Ajax became a European Legend.
