My local Sports Centre in Carcassonne is named after Alain Le Hetet who was the karate instructor back in the day. He died in a car accident many years ago. A superb fighter

this is WKF but they were called WUKO back then, and based on a different set of rules (better in my opinion), which were more in line with the spirit of karatedo.

Yes, great rules, but it was called WKF (from Dec 20, 1992) by then. The WKF is producing some great Karate Ka currently, hopefully the rules will go back to before 2008.

Man, I've watched this 20 years ago first time. Still remembering the famous faces: Biamonti, Cherdieu, Le Hetet, Ian Cole, Otto... Does anybody know where is Gilles Cherdieu and was late Alan Le Hetet combat instructor in French Legion? Thank you for posting this!

I think you can see not only white belt but also red belt. It may help the referee to distinguish each player.
