For anyone who thinks THIS coverage is bad needs to understand that this is CHASE CARD. Of course SpinTV isn't going to put all their resources into covering this card, they need to use most of their effort in covering the lead card. Ask yourself this, do you want mediocre (I think it's pretty good for what it is) coverage of the chase card, or no coverage? Easy as that!

I enjoyed watching this. I have a suggestion for Avery, perhaps bring some instruction to the commentary? Instead of saying what is obvious tell us what disc they may/should/are using and the reasons behind their selection of discs and paths. Thanks to all of you who bring this to us. I for one, appreciate it. :-)

Wow... reading these comments I think you have no idea how much work they are putting out each day. First groups start at 0800 and last finish at 1800. After that I have no idea what's going on, but I believe that video commentaries and after production is happening at late hours. I was at the Beast for days 2 and 3. Avery (and many others) are literally working 24/7 through the tournament. They are not only making these video commentaries. Show some respect for the guys putting these up and making the commentary. It's amazing how much they do in so little time.

Niko N it's their job to work hard, and release a respectable product. 10 hr days! boo fuckin hoo. in America, we have higher expectations than Avery trying to feel around in the dark. let's just say ESPN is laughing at the community, still, until we fix that junk. well continue to support something we aren't real proud of in the mean time.
@catdaddyfatstacks76657 жыл бұрын
max heflin where did u come up with 10 hrs ?? That's most likely the length of time they merely watched and recorded the European open, however the videos don't come together by chance. I assume (like the OP) that the real work starts post-round to splice and edit hours and hours of unedited footage not to mention cgi graphics, stats, and let's not forget the almighty Avery commentary that every one is so very grateful and beholden to have the pleasure of listening to

Thanks for the chase card coverage! Just my opinion but I think Avery Jenkins is decent at the commentary and getting better. I think in general commentary like this works better with two people. Beautiful course, great play, excellent coverage. Thanks everyone at Spin TV.

I don't think Avery is a bad commentator, he just doesn't have the insightful style I enjoy hearing from the players on the cards. I can see what's happening, tell us the how and why. Keep up the great work!

It's not free if it has commercials in it. It's amazing how many people can't grasp how advertiser supported content works. I don't pay a dime in actual money to watch sunday nfl games, yet they seem to make a few bucks anyway...
@JessCat6067 жыл бұрын
it's free to you, isn't it?
@jesserichardson13957 жыл бұрын
Jesse Diller- No, actually. Do you still not get it? I watched a commercial, just like during a football game. Some advertiser paid to put that commercial in front of my eyeballs, just like during a football game. I paid in eyeball time, which is the commodity that advertisers value most. It's obviously not much, but it's also not nothing either. Ever hear of micro-transactions? The NFL makes billions per year on the cumulative eyeball time of millions of people. Disc golf is working on a much smaller scale, but the monetization of that eyeball time is there all the same. If you still can't understand the concept I don't know how to make it any simpler without a chalkboard and colorful pictures...
@JessCat6067 жыл бұрын
Seems to me that you're ranting on a tangent. Nobody disagrees with what you just said. but I guarantee you that most everyone watching this video hit the right arrow 6 times between holes 8 and 9...if it actually took you 32 minutes and 53 seconds to watch this video, I'd be amazed. Yeah, the NFL makes billions, but if you stream NFL games, you can't skip the ads. Same with Hulu or Crunchyroll. If you wanna skip the ads, you gotta pay actual money. For this coverage, on this particular platform, the micro-transaction value is pretty small, since ads are skippable.

Good work by Avery. I don't think he's the greatest at commentary, but he is an experienced and intelligent pro who gets far more grief than he deserves when it comes to this topic.

big fan of Avery as player and person... delighted to hear him here given he is growing as announcer (I am one of those "haters" that thought in his first few ones he had too much knowledge/experience and too much enthusiasm at times) really pulled back and let play do more of "talking" and just adding to it

Would be interesting to see Seppo if he becomes a good putter. He has Tee shots and shots on the course that can be world class but the putter usually comes up short. If he had short game close to the best players I think he would become really dangerous even in the bigger tournaments.

So grateful to have this coverage. Avery is a pretty bad commentator but perhaps if he put in some effort and prepared some interesting back story material. Frankly it feels like he sits down and just verbalizes whatever pops into his head. He does not have enough charisma/talent to get away with this approach. Avery, PLEASE DO THE WORK, or find a different job.

@tjtomax7 жыл бұрын
ugh, without the catch cam (the 2nd camera) this coverage feels really mediocre. Not to bash the content that we get provided by spinTV but honestly feels like I'm not watching something put together by professionals at that point. Also I don't like avery's commentary since he's not playing the tournament, so he can't portray the atmosphere among the players on the card.
@delta9nine2427 жыл бұрын
Having people playing the tournament doing commentary is nice, but think of it as a treat...you can't just have all treats fed to you, you'll end up fat and spoiled. This is chase card, after all. Thanks for the prime chase card coverage SpinTV.

a solo Avery commentary along with only having one camera filming the round is probably the worst combination we could get. this is why spinTV sucks because they can't even produce high quality content on their own. Jomez if you're reading this, stop paring up with these fools you're so much better than them.
