I'm one of your millions subscribers . Watching this brings back memories of my youngest son @ the Air Force Academy . He was on the honor guard the whole 4 years . That was twenty four years ago . He's still in the Air Force an F16 pilot and a Weapon School graduates and became an instructor ... I'm very blessed and a proud Momma !

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this comment, but this makes me very emotional. I don't have ANY respect for the USAF Honor Guard! When my father passed (in 2022), they refused to give him the ceremony that he deserved. My father gave his entire life to the USAF, and was a retired and disabled Colonel (full bird). They blamed COVID. None of the rest of us still cared at that point. Even the local VFWs or American Legions said they couldn't do it. Finally...I got in contact with the Huntsville, UT American Legion, and they agreed to do it. They were many miles away, but spent their own money to come do the ceremony at my father's funeral. Shout to those guys, for stepping up when everyone else failed. I cried the entire time I was typing this comment.
@lianabaddley8217
@lianabaddley8217 3 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry for your loss and the disrespect to your father. Please tell me you are at least from Utah? I am guessing not since Huntsville is not that far from The Hill Air Force Base. I know our Honor Guard has traveled many miles unpaid to give the Respect and Honor that is due to any service member they could. I'm glad they were able to show you the Honor and Respect your Father deserved.
@spyrus_4359
@spyrus_4359 3 ай бұрын
@@lianabaddley8217 Yes. I guess it wasn't that far. It was Huntsville, UT to Kaysville, UT. But they were all in huge pickup trucks (country thing). But all of the local VFWs and American Legions also refused. It took me days and many calls to find anyone to do it. It's just disgusting that it's so difficult to get a ceremony for someone who gave their entire life to service to get the ceremony he deserved. This should have been automatic, and the USAF Honor Guard would not deliver. Luckily the Huntsville, UT American Legion stepped up. Nothing but respect for those guys.

When I was in High School back in the 80’s every High School Marching Band had a Drill Team that marched and performed with us. We had a Gun Drill Team, Flag Drill Team and Baton Team that marched, performed and competed along with us. They were part of the Band. Every High School I knew had a Gun Drill Team. Of course the military is so much better than our High School Gun Drill Teams but they’ve also had longer to practice and become efficient at it than our High School Gun Drill Teams. Love watching them both though.❤
