Blunted blades, they hurt but likely won't cut you unless you thrust REALLY hard. You actually have to try to hurt someone with a blunted sword. Bit I do agree with you, you can still break bones and lose teeth if they aren't careful.

Spectacular! And to be more specific that particular brand of swordfighting seems to have had its origins in mid 1400s lower Germany, roughly speaking. You guys have it down to a flawless & amazing science. Fantastic Work!

@Joshua Pena he was the best in Japan, for sure... But comparing to the great sword fighters in Europe who were bigger had better technology and probably better training, he would get waxed by a trained knight. Europeans are just the best, no contest.

@@marcuslatrent528 you speak too highly on a style and art when Japanese samurai's and crusaders never clashed swords against each other. With that being said nobody will ever know. And it's not like Japanese didn't wield great swords or, used evenly edge blades either. Also, have you ever come to conclusion that samurai's really had to rely on combat like there life depends on it? Because of the armor that was made during the era wasn't durable as knight armor? Knights in the other hand did rely on combat skills but not as much as samurai's did. Because why worry about getting hit when you have all that armor to defend blows for you? Surely there not invincible because of ballistic crossbows but, they were hard to kill in the battlefield. With all being said Armor wise I'll go for crusaders. Because samurai materials used on weapons and armor was very limited. Unless, if they were to use the same materials that european did then samurai's would have the better edge. Because Japanese swords are already deadly enough with there purpose of hack and slashing where eroupen swords are just used for stabbing. A duel between a knight and, a samurai without armour when it goes down to Combat skills? Japanese combat because of there sword fighting has so many elements in them. Since they rely heavily on defense and offense but, mostly counter striking especially, there grappling. Aka jujitsu at the time was very effective and still is used today in mma and the military. I feel if the samurai were to ever have a chance with a knight using armor, would be to takedown a knight. By Using the knights momentum on the armor taking them to the ground would eventually, allow the samurai to use his dagger to strike thru the visor on neutralizing the target.
