200.00 pesos for a 6 seater trike for a 15 minute drive is reasonable. The reason why trike rides are more expensive is because they tend to drop you off at your destination, plus most of the time, it covers the gas on its trip back to the terminal. That’s a good price point. Special trips like that pays for the whole ‘six’ seating capacity, and not the actual number of passengers. That’s a good deal. You can find someone who will charge you for about 150.00 but 200.00 is still a good price point.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is quite reasonable I think, the trip to the hotel was surprisingly long! :) Yeah, that makes sense, so we're happy to cover that cost :)

Basic Pinoy hygiene taught by Pinoy parents: 1. Take a bath everyday. 2. Brush your teeth after every meals (3x a day). 3. Apply deodorant everyday. 4. Nails (toes and fingers) must be trimmed. 5) Hair cut at least once a month. These I still do wherever I go even if I am in freakin' Iceland or Qatar. No joke! Hahaha.. 😂😂😍
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Oh really? So you do actually brush your teeth 3 times a day?? Haha, I was only joking about that!! :D:P Haha, that's awesome that you still follow the rules so strictly :D
@chrismartin15396 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is true. Brushing our teeth 3x a day is the norm for most Pinoys. Even in winter (when I was in Europe), I still have to take a bath everyday. You can take a Pinoy out of the Philippines but not the Philippines out of the Pinoy I guess! hahaha.. :D

@JJ Journey...Cebu's provincial buses operate 24/7 with frequent departures approx. every 10-15 minutes. Simply show up at the bus terminal and get on the next bus where seats are still available. It's first come first served basis there. Buses leave as scheduled full or not.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah, this is what it seemed to us as well! :) We especially like that they leave on schedule, some places are very tiring when you have to wait for the bus/taxi to fill up first..
@lionhearted19696 жыл бұрын
That's true. A variety of public transport is available when you get from one town to another such as buses, minibuses, multicabs (small jeepneys), tricycles, motorcycle taxi (habal-habal),. Simply wait by the road side and flag down any passing bus, tricycle, minibus, or multicab. You should try canyoneering, swimming with sardines, sea turtles and waterfalls chasing while in the southern part of Cebu.

Hey guys! not sure if your still in Moalboal by the time you get this, but I grew up scuba diving there in Panagsama. If you ever want to try scuba diving, that place is one of the best dive spots. There's a tiny little island which I'm sure you can see which has (what we call) a cathedral cave underwater with full of sealife.. Just go to any dive resort and avail for a day trip, you can also drift dive which the boat can drop you off from one point, drift with the current & they'll pick you up on the other side. Have fun!
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Ah, that's so cool! We've unfortunately left already without doing the scuba diving since we couldn't really afford it, but that sounds really cool! :) Thanks for the tip!

I don't think they open the bus doors often but as far as I experienced riding Ceres they usually close the doors ,it's controlled by the driver in his dashboard. They open the doors if the area / road stretch is a known passenger spot in that case they'll open it along that stretch. If you want air conditioned Ceres buses there are a lot of them a bit more expensive than the bus type you are using in the video and a bit larger I just don't know if they often go on public terminals or on their own only or selected terminals .
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they actually closed the doors for large parts of the ride! So that makes sense :) Yeah, we started taking the AC buses once we discovered that they existed haha :D

Tricycle fares are quite pricy in provinces coz the destinations most of the time are farther and you can drop off to any location within their turf. In other words, it's the provincial taxi here in the Philippines.

haggling 101: always counter with 100% less. So for a 15 min tricycle ride, you could have paid 100 Pesos. For those who were saying you were scammed, NO you were not scammed - they gave you a price for what they think you can afford and up to you to counter. Numerous other guys could take you for a bit less... no scammers here - it's an enterprise.

Those old coaches without aircon are a bit more cramped than the more modern coaches, but actually I prefer them. In those modern coaches they have the aircon on full and it gets so cold.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
It can get quite cold in there yeah, and in the old ones it gets really hot haha, so it's a choice between two evils :D

JJ's Journey That is true. However, if you sit next to a window you get the air blowing in...although, admittedly it is warm air. Lol

I thought you are going to compare the Filipino and European supermarkets.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Sorry that there weren't too many comparisons in there, we actually intended it to be more for our views back home, so they could see how the Filipino supermarkets were compared to the ones we're used to :)

200 pesos for a tricycle? That's a small time scammer
@POTUS-ob5yb6 жыл бұрын
It's very cheap for a special trip! Trust me promise!
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
It was actually a surprisingly long trip to the hotel, so I think it was alright to pay the 200 pesos :) In either case, we can definitely improve on our haggling skills haha

That tricycle driver is overpricing, they usually increase the price up to 100% for tourists. Usually a 15 minute ride costs around 10-13php and a regular ride costs only 7php
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we've heard this from several people now :D But ok, until we learn to haggle, we deserve it haha! Thanks for the heads up though, it's nice to know the prices for the future :)

I thought I saw you guys in Coron Palawan... be careful in putting your bag below the bus because sometimes other people gets bags that is not theirs.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Ah man, we haven't been to Coron yet unfortunately, so must have been someone else :) Thanks for the heads up, we will try to be caution next time :)
@JustifySpeaks236 жыл бұрын
yeah hard to go to that place, either you get the 14 hours boat or prepare for atleast 4 months to get on a decent price plane, but I checked you've been to my next destination which is Bohol so it's good too. while you're in Cebu be sure to get their famous lechon. I haven't been there but there's a heresay that the best lechon is there.

You guys should have chosen the buses with airconditioning. I can only imagine how hot it must have been with how crowdy it is with the buses :/

Haha, yeah, we didn't know they existed :P It was an experience in itself! For next time, we will go with the AC :)

Julia looks too thin to carry a backpack that big. She must be stronger than she looks. And as far as I know, you don't need to pay anything when you put your bags in the luggage area of buses. One question, how long was the trip on the tricycle?
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Haha, she is fairly strong I guess, she never complains about the weight ever :) Oh really? I guess they saw an opportunity to earn some extra cash then :P The tricycle trip was about 15 minutes, so I think the price we paid was about fair :)
@Static3316036 жыл бұрын
Not really. The price is too high for a 15-minute tricycle ride. When locals see tourists, they usually charge more than usual because they know foreigners would never complain about it. Here in the Philippines, we have this thing called "tawad". It means bargaining to get a lower price for goods or services. Try to ask some locals if you can "tawad" whenever you can. It'll save you money.

@pyaarsuravira30926 жыл бұрын
a tricycle ride will cause you 15-20 pesos per person for a 15 minute ride. that's a 6 seater, so you pay for 6 person. still, 200 is a little expensive.
@JJsJourney6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I tiny bit overpriced, but it's not too bad tbh :)
