Now that is an adventure for me. lol I love it when you find a remote pass, and show us what the track was for adventurers a long time ago. Someone in times past created this road, and today we drive over it in a matter of hours, while it took them weeks to months to get across it. The roads themselves are a dream to drive. Sure, they can be dangerous so they demand your full attention, and if you're not careful on the descent, the brakes can overheat (so always use a healthy mix of regular braking and engine braking), but other than that, the fact that they demand your full attention makes you have a sense of achievement when you are back on a regular road.

You can find such remote houses across the Alps. I think most of them are only seasonally occupied.
