She said she would be given a leave because they see on a Tv that there's a crises in Africa but they couldn't tell the difference between South Africa and Zimbabwe. Most of them said South Africa because the Netherlands is a Dutch country and we have white South Africans in SA who are the descendants of the Dutch and are referred to as Afrikaners... Afrikaans and Dutch are very similar and most South Africans also do Afrikaans at schools either as home language, first additional language, or second additional language. So they wouldn't have issues with the language barrier and some South African Afrikaners are also living in the Netherlands.

It's a pity that when some are asked about African countries, all they can think of are places where the local people need education on hygiene. Not only is that inaccurate, it's also condescending. What's even more troubling, is that it never occurred to those interviewees that the host might feel insulted!🤔🤯 The heights of ignorance, 😤 smh. They not only need to know about modern Africa -- that the healthiest countries in the world often have African countries at the top b/c of low tobacco consumption, for instance-- but they need to know about ancient Africa, too: for the record, it's a fact that certain African societies have been found to have built structures, with channelled water into their homes as a handy convenience (as showcased on HomeTeam History's channel, in a video about recently unearthed palace complexes in W. Africa). These *aren't ideas that are foreign to Africa,* by any means. They were part of indigenous life before domination, conflict, and enforced poverty removed people's ability to demonstrate their self-sufficiency. ‼💯

I wasn't suprised the only two black people in this video chose Ghana. I think Ghanaians have made good name for themselves internationally and so it looks like every black person around the globe is a bit more comfortable living in Ghana.

Growing up in Zambia, my immediate answer would be Zambia, a no-brainer. But if forced to choose elsewhere, I am not sure. Zimbabwe I know second-best, so that would be too easy an answer. Angola has always attracted me, and I was once offered to relocate to Angola but I was forced to turn it down; I wouldn't turn that down again. My long-term gf was Ghanaian, and the food is spectacular, but somehow the country itself never lured me. I still hold Congo DR as long-running fantasy to escape to (largely because of the music), but I am not sure anymore. If pressed tomorrow, I would probably say Senegal. It is something entirely different, but I have learned a lot about Senegal from Senegalese since I went abroad, and am immensely curious.

You notice most of the whites in SA are originally from Holland, the video helped realize how there is still a strong connection. Its like US and England.

The question being ask is not worth it? Why not ask the country they would love to visit than to asking of relocation. How many Europeans will ever think of relocating.

I would choose Nigeria, it's my favourite African country and I have visited 26 countries on the African Continent. My wife is Nigerian we have family there, I love the people, culture , the food - pepper soup , fresh fish egussi , bush meat banga soup and the beer esp Nigerian Guinness and Legend Stout to wash the suya down. My wife is a Nigerian drama addict so it would have to be somewhere where there is some Nollywood or there would be some 'wahalla- oh" but then I would choose Nigeria as I am a 'Nigerian oyibo' .

Here is my response. (Unlike the people in the video, I am German, not Dutch.) Currently I am thinking about it, though more as a thought experiment and not seriously at all. There are several countries on my list. It wouldn't make sense to rank them. - The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency put BOTSWANA high on the list for me. I am very impressed with how well run this country seems to be. No doubt this is one of the cells out of which a prosperous Africa will grow. Botswana doesn't have the relatively moderate climate as does South Africa, and it doesn't have the pockets of German culture that Namibia does, but the point of moving to Africa would be for things to be different. So Botswana would probably be my choice in the southern part of the continent. - ETHIOPIA because of its incredibly rich history. In fact, I am beginning to learn Amharic right now. Unlike Botswana, Ethiopia is a very multi-ethnic country with all the problems that come from that, but somehow it has always managed to impress with good governance. I expect great things from this country, hopefully without going through a bad period like my country once did. There seem to be problems with democracy, but given the general conditions in the region I think that's basically unavoidable, and I am not too concerned. And although I am an atheist, the fact that Ethiopia is the oldest Christian country makes it culturally very close to Germany on a very deep level. I have seen some uncanny similarities between some Ethiopians and some German friends that I haven't seen anywhere else in Africa. I find this very fascinating. Or maybe ERITREA, for a blend of Ethiopian and Italian culture. - MADAGASCAR because both the nature and the people are breathtakingly beautiful. Or more realistically its tiny neighbour RÉUNION (part of FRANCE) because it's in the European Union and I already speak French. - SENEGAL or SUDAN (I know this is a weird list!) because I could get local contacts there who might accept me as wider family. - LIBYA because it's close to Europe and seems to me the most interesting country on the Mediterranean coast of Africa right now. But with some serious concerns regarding the state of the country after the West finished with it. (Sorry, I had no say in this!)

I'm from Cape Town, South Africa and would not want to live any where else. Maybe it's because I was born here and too old to start all over again somewhere else, or maybe it is the "Braai culture"....!

These people don’t want to move to Africa but if they were forced to they would choose Cape Town. Cape Town is quite easy for people from Europe to fit in. The language and culture is not too different. We don’t feel like such foreigners in Cape Town compared to other places in Africa.
