Eurotop vs. Pillowtop - What's the difference?

My Pillow Top sagged in the middle, others said they had same issue. They need to make matteress two sided again. All new the plush ones I got are hard, was told need to break in, should not have to "beak in a bed" years ago they were fine and lasted over 10 yrs due to flipping and rotating, I think due to the flat bottoms they are firmer, never had issues with they way they used to make them, they need to go back to basics. Same with Pillows

One question - will a Eurotop mattress maintain it's durability to denting compared to a pillowtop? We bought a pillowtop mattress and it started indented where we laid within 8 months. Naturally you can't flip a pillowtop and if we rotate it, I'm sleeping on her indent and she's sleeping on mine. It's frustrating.

Great question! Your traditional mattresses are made with a quilted, fibrous, material on the top. Because of this they are more likely to show the body impressions faster. The softer the mattress, the more true that is. It does not mean it is breaking down any faster, just that an individual's body weight and the settling of those fibrous materials are more likely to show it. That is one of the trade-offs in the mattress types. Foam mattress, usually break down at comparable rates, but are less likely to show those impressions. A hybrid mattress, one with both memory foam and springs, takes the best of both worlds (in theory). compressing around the corners is caused by yanking the sheets down too quickly along the edge, slowly stretch it out and the corner compressing will not occur

This is a GREAT question! For the most part, there is almost only one scenario where a mattress topper would be recommended. If you have a NEW mattress that needs to be softer and you have a NEW mattress topper that accomplishes this. Please do not ever put a new mattress topper on an old mattress. The topper is just going to form to what the mattress is already doing. If the mattress has ANY sagging or body impressions at all, the topper will just conform to them. ~Robert

The *only* real-life difference is that the pillow top has this little sewed edge unto it while the euro top doesn't. There is no standards as to whether one should be "generally" softer than the other.

this is a really bad comparison between the 2 types of mattresses as this salesman has probably never been in the plant to see the process or maybe has but doesn't know what it actually going on. The mattress to the left is cheaply made, the one on the right is a better quality mattress. if you feel wire around the edge of the bed its good quality, if you feel hard foam its cheap. more weight equals good, light weight equals bad.

You mix some truth in with some incorrect information. The first pillow top compared to the first eurotop are extremely close in material quality and construction. They are two different brands, so there is some variation, but very similar in standard. That said, the second pillowtop and the second eurotop are less expensive models and completely different spring sets. That is what makes them different. They are still very well constructed, but the are less expensive for a reason.
