Hi great video. I'm planning a similar trip. Can you tell how you arranged accommodation? If it was hotel/guest house, did you have to arrange in advance? Or is it easy enough to arrive at a place in the evening, and then find somewhere to stay for the night? TIA

On this trip we carried our own tent and stayed on campsites mostly. We have tried the hotel/guest house thing on a previous trip with limited success - waiting until eve often didn't work and advance booking became a time consuming chore. Camping is much more flexible.

hello , how are you guys . My name is Luis Wahrlich and we are , my wife and I , planning to do the route Berlin to Copenhagen using the Eurovelo 7 and we found your beautiful video from the reverse trip . I would like to know what kind of bike frame you guys used and what kind of tire and if this setup felt good for the ride. Here in southern Brazil where we cycle we use gravel bikes in carbon fiber or aluminum with 700x 38mm or 700x 32mm tires, but I don't know if we can rent gravel bikes in Berlin for the route. But we want to get away from the heavy traditional touring for sure hahaha. Anyway thanks for any information you can give us. Cheers 😎🤟

Thanks for your question. We use steel frame touring bikes with drop handlebars which are really the best choice for longer tours loaded with camping gear, especially when flying with them. Our tyres were Schwalbe Marathons 700x32 and 35. Modern gravel bikes are fine if you can travel fairly light but in reality you could use anything as the route has a good surface most of the way. Some of the roads in Germany are cobbled but it’s tarmac or hard trails for most of the route. Hope you find something and have a great trip.

@@bike_spokes Thank you very much for your feedback. I like the idea of a steel touring frame with drop bars. The thickness of the 32mm or 35mm tires is also familiar to us and makes us comfortable. Yes it is fairly well signposted but I would definitely recommend a GPS as it is very easy to miss some. We did approximately 80km per day and it was 15 days of cycling.

That sounds amazing! There are usually signs but not always and they are easy to miss so I would recommend using a GPS device ideally (or an app on your phone).
