I watched the German entry from beginning to end and how on Earth did it finish 17th? It's pure gold!

I totally agree with your number one! Joy Fleming was a total DIVA (she died in 2017), and that song is everything. I was 14 years old in 1975 and I remember it fondly, when I first heard it the night of the contest. Back then I would record all the contests on cassette tapes, which I still might have somewhere, and I would listen to them for months afterwards. Joy left her skin on the stage that night. Incredible performance, memorable to this day. And thank you for doing justice to Spain, my country's entry. Sergio y Estíbaliz (from the Basque Country, like me) were both original members of Mocedades (of "Eres tú" fame). She is actually the sister of Amaya, Izaskun and Roberto Uranga, also Mocedades' originals, who came in second in 1973. This song, "Tú volverás", was composed by Juan Carlos Calderón, the composer of, altogether, four great Eurovision songs for Spain: "Eres tú" (1973), "Tú volverás" (1975), "La fiesta terminó" (1985) and "Nacida para amar" (1989). All of them classics in my book. Thank you for posting this video. My personal favorite decade of the ESC.

I'll never understand how Germany's entry could crash so hard. Top 5 at least. I always have to giggle when the Dutch singer sings "You walk along with your ding-dang-dong"...I'm still 15 or so as it looks like :0) Oh and 12 points to Finland 😀

Music Golden Era. I was 6y old and I watched this Eurovision Song Contest. Spain, Portugal, UK, Germany, Turkey and The Netherlands were my Favourites! Teach in with Ding-a-Song was the Most Beautiful one. It makes you happy, wanting to dance and promotes well-being. Even nowadays, I still listen to it at KZbin. Thank you for sharing. Kind regards from Portugal, Southern Europe.

Not Turkey being underrated again! 😱 It’s one of the most undeserved last places ever! But I’m so happy to see Germany as your winner. She deserved so much better.

Turkey is so underrated, in this video and also in 1975, deserved to be in TOP 10. For me Italy deserved to win that year.
@emin95042 жыл бұрын
I didn't except that Turkey is 18th place in your ranking. I think Seninle Bir Dakika is one of the best our entries. Semiha's voice is very strong and the song is very emotional and impressive. But I respect your ranking.

For me best ballad from Turkey. I also like your ballad from 1995,2001

@@jsjs744 Definitely 1995 and 2001 are very perfect too. Our ballads are very underrated.

Sorry but this song is mediocre. Real great Turkish songs from 70s is Kusura Bakma and Yasanmamis Yillar by Sezen Aksu.

My ranking from Israel: 🥇Germany 🇩🇪 one of my all time favorites! Great vocals, great melody and performance! I think the juries scared of the energy the song has compared to the rest boring songs in this weak year 🥈Italy 🇮🇹 great voices and song, well deserved 3rd place, but there is no chemistry between them 🥉UK 🇬🇧 my guilty pleasure, sounds like a song which was written in 10 minutes, but still I love it Turkey 🇹🇷 a masterpiece, should have finished much higher, great vocals, great lyrics, 10/10 Malta 🇲🇹 really underrated, happy song, really nostalgic, but he dressed like a fish🐟 Finland 🇫🇮 really cute song that I forget about it for some reason, really different from the previous entries and I'm glad that it succeeded that year Sweden 🇸🇪 used to be my winner, great song and melody, prefer the Swedish version Switzerland 🇨🇭 I love it, and although I understand why it finished higher, I think there were better songs that year Luxembourg 🇱🇺 great song, I love it, I wish I could rank it higher Monaco 🇲🇨 really underrated, great melody but not memorable performance or song, or both Belgium 🇧🇪 again, nice song, but not memorable enough Netherlands 🇳🇱 great song, just not my winner, really iconic Israel 🇮🇱 great singer (still popular in Israel) but really weak song Portugal 🇵🇹 good song and lyrics, but the worst entry from the early 70's political Portuguese entries Yugoslavia 🇸🇮 I like this classic, the lyrics and their voice, but the other songs are just better in my opinion Spain 🇪🇸 better than Norway, but still, not one of my favorites that year Norway 🇳🇴 really nice song, good voice and performance, but I just prefer the other songs more France 🇫🇷 please don't kill me, I hate this so much, it's childish, too catchy and annoying Ireland 🇮🇪 just a bad song, bad melody and bad performance, Ireland was great in the 70's but this one is not good at all

I had listened to that German entry some times before and during all this time I've been thinking it did really well. Only now I have found out how badly it actually placed... 😶🌫️ Unbelievable. Joy's presence and vocal performance are outstanding!

My top 10 is: 10) Malta (just nice, it's in fact in the exact middle of my top) 09) Italy (good but kinda average) 08) Portugal (nice emotion) 07) Ireland (pleasing Irish entry) 06) France (pretty song) 05) Finland (I'm not a fan of this genre but it works for me) 04) United Kingdom (classic 70's British entry, very good) 03) Norway (that completes my magical top 3, I really like that song) 02) Germany (that song finishing 17th baffles me, this floored me when I heard it for the first time) 01) The Netherlands (worthy winner, my heart is happy when I listen to it)

I'm glad to see that your favorite is Joy Fleming too. Great voice, catchy melody and perfect ESC lyrics. What went wrong? I think the sound and stage quality as well as the camera work could have been reasons. The contest looked like out of a small wooden shack and Joy almost caused it to collapse.
