The problem was that the competition was way stiffer in 1983. The winner from '83 is the greatest ESC song in my opinion. Thus, the winning song from 1991 was relatively better than the competition that year.

@@rolandpratt403 That's a matter of opinion - just like my statement about Corinne Hermes. My point being: pre 1983 was musically the best period in ESC history. The overall quality detoriated during the 80s and into the 90s. Today, it's basically turned into a costume show where music has taken the backseat. Regardless of whether Carola or Corinne had the "far better" song in 1983; the competition was generally stiffer than in 1991. Thus, relative to the other songs, "Fångat av en stormvind", was in a better place than "Främling".

Vid denna Eurovision var jag 10 år. Jag ❤ Carola från första stund. Hon kom tre i tävlingen, men det spelade ingen roll. Dagen efter åkte pappa och köpte ett kassettband till mig på OK macken. Jag spelade främling om och om igen, men förstod inte vem artisten var som sjöng de andra sångerna, för de var och är ju också bra. Det gick några veckor tills jag förstod att det var Carola. Och då blev det O micke och resterande låtar. Nu har det varit stundenttider och har hört O Micke spelats mycket här i bostadskvareret. Blir så glad och att även dagens ungdom gillar din musik. Tack för all glädje du ger och ha en bra sommar ❤❤

Canción espléndida, realmente estupenda y los años lo confirman. Tema impecable, perfecto, sorprendente, fresco y muy maravilloso. Carola canta genial y con unas ganas! Resulta entrañable y magistral. Su tercera posición con 126 puntos sabe a poco, no fue suficiente! Una gozada de principio a fin. Lo viví en directo. Y van 12 Puntazos!

Oh, how I enjoyed to understand the 2nd "lightning and thunder ..." half of this song, sung after the victory (full of drops of sweat). Now I´m 60 years old (2 weeks elder than Per) with more hair on my head (and in my face) than Louis and much less weight than each of them (69,5 kg by 1,72m). At all, whole Scandinavia seems to me beeing a giant fry: In April 2016 in Malmo (a cosmopolitan town with a taxi driver born in Honkong, a receptionist in the hotel speaking the original dialect from Nuremberg and a cook from Syria, who served me a vegetarian burger in Swedish-I answerd in English ...) I had to wear a winter coat, while in Stuttgart spring flowers blossomed.
