Fabulous, probably Slovenia's best entry ever. Electrifying melody and a flawless vocal, most rare for upbeat entries. Stunning, and even 7th place was way too low. I also love the sort of Harley Davidson-styled outfit. This should've been the winner.

I dont know Joker Out 2023 was prety damn good, just not quite catchy enough like this to truly fire up the televoters, but the band (an actual BAND) was very highly regarded and darlings of the ESC world. Lead singer eveen formed an awe-inspring Bromance with Kaarija, the star from Finland.

While it was also my favourite, 2001 was an incredibly strong year for ESC, if you go through all the finalists not even the bottom placed ones are bad. We'll probably never see such a good line up as in 2001.

Totally agree. I don't usually say this, but this was definitely a year where we should have won (I like our 2005 winner, but Helena's first attempt on ESC was truly better). However, I would be perfectly OK had we been denied victory by Nusa's great entry. But Estonia?! Oh, puh-lease!

I was 20 at the time and I had videotaped this song and I would watch it again and again. I think it could win if it was presented today with a different stage performance. Nusa is great, I still remember she is a teacher who just chose to go and sing.

I didn't even think that a lot of people liked Slovenia's songs at eurovison. We had lots of bad ones but this one was the best in my opinion. It seems our nation is "waking up" -meaning it's choosing better songs. And off topic: I love Scotland, I wish I could go there one day. Peace. :)

Slovenia had no major bro support from ExYugo contries, and had no diaspora of any size to make a dent elsewhere. Burdens of a small country Montenegro has sent some AMAZING entries but they also have no real support or disaspora.

Wow I just realised that for 4 years in a row, esc was won by a northern european country. 99 - Sweden 00 - Denmark 01 - Estonia 02 - Latvia. Anyways Slovenia was the real winner and there was literally no excuse for Estonia to win. One of the most overrated winners in history.

How come you changed it from "No, it's not true" to "Energy" with the quite different message (I guess)? Anyway, I prefer the english and more energetic version and can't get enough of it! Yes, the lyrics to Antique's song were indeed quite naff, but it was a very catchy song, and it was a turning point for the Greek entries, as this was the 1st time we went to the contest with a truly contemporary song. It was also a REAL turning point for how the contest was treated in Greece; from total indifference (the '99 and 2000 contests, were we didn't enter, were the lowest-rated ever), to mass hysteria - every contest from 2002 onwards is the most viewed non-sports event of the year.
