Coming home is sadder when you know the backstory. Sigurjón Brink or Sjonni wrote the song and was going to sing it but then he passed away a month before the icelandic contest. So his friends and wife came together formed a band and sang the song. Its a really touching story

the only one i really felt is amar pelos dios. the instrumental itself (mainly opening) can almost immediately put me in a nostalgic somber mood. plus the opening line/s "when someone asks about me, tell them i lived to love you" hits really hard.

I’m surprised “Sí” by Gigliola Cinquetti did not make the list. Originally a song about rekindling a marriage (and indirectly anti-divorce for a 1974 Italy), it eventually was reworded to “Go”, a song about ending a failing marriage.

I think Kärleken är by Jill Johnsson from Sweden 1998 is quite heartbreaking, especially when you understand the lyrics! And Hold Me Now makes me cry after Melodifestivalen 2019! Also Israel and The Netherlands songs from 2019 is quite heartbreaking as well.
