It's most probably because of Eurovision's 6 person rule, Like in the video, the song needed a lot of dancers to bring it to life, not 4. I think they done well considering the rules can constricted them a bit.

I have to agree with those who loved the original video submission, but the live performance just tanked. Its such a high energy song, and there just wasnt enough energy on that stage to keep up with that kind of fast fun song. I mean even having the background be a bunch of dancing flappers would have been a better background than this. And the light show gave nothing to the performance and was quite distracting.

I mean even if they'd have given the backup singers some old time appearance to their microphones would have added to this performance. It was a real shame I really loved the song. Charles Cornelius italy;s was a little different - Sweden's and Russia's were tedious wailing with pseudo meaningful words; not surprising as both were written by a Swede. I think you should maybe consider a stuffed hedgehog or weasel instead for practical reasons?

This was an extraordinarily good performance of a catchy, lively song. BUT it was an extraordinarily good performance of two amateurs, of a song that was totally inappropriate for Eurovision. The staging just looked desperate - neon lights, break dancing and a staircase? - it was as if they were trying to overcompensate for having a song and performers who weren't up to the job. Well done for the effort, but the fact that any countries ranked it in their top 10 and gave it points was amazing.
