The thing is, the public doesn't get to choose the artist or the song. We are also very limited in options. These days the music industry is not thriving as it used to 15 years ago. People have moved on with their lives while others are trying to make a living in other ways. We have one very promising artist though and I think he can be a breakthrough. Gor as a soloist is doing fabulous these days. He picks traditional Armenian poetry and mixes it with rock, throwing some folk sounds in. His vocal range has developed well. He is very respected and loved here. I hope he gets a shot as a solo entry.

Azerbaijan have ancient monuments, buildings, ancient cities, palaces, clothes, musical instruments and prominent composers of this music, their compositions, etc. These are all facts with real evidence and can be seen. This is one of my 3 top favourite Eurovision songs. It's not my favourite everyday, it just depends on how I woke up that day, really. But this song has one things that surpasses all other songs, top 3, 5, 10 or 20, it doesn't matter. It's the PERFECT Eurovision song, because it ticks all the right boxes: - It uses traditional folklore music and instruments from the represented nation, blended with modern electronic sounds and rhythms, so it doesn't become a Nashville festival - There's a set, use of lights, dancing and costumes, and not just a guy standing there with a boring suit, holding the mic - The first verse is in English, so that the general audience doesn't feel alienated. The second verse is in the native language, so that it fulfills the whole point of Eurovision: to show all the diverse european cultures and languages. (I know Armenia isn't in Europe, bite me) - The singers tune by themselves and have powerful voices without screeching to your face. - The song is catchy and worth replaying and singing in the shower or humming in the street, not some plastic-wraped marketing product that screams "I sound just like a trillion other forgettable songs on the radio, I hope it takes you long to forget me or confuse me with another!!!!"", made in some big studio's basement by underpaid music school graduates.
