I wish more contestants would sing in their native language, that would make Eurovision much more unique and interesting. EDIT: I see that a lot of people say that if this were to happen, it would reduce the chances of said participants of being voted because people wouldn't understand the lyrics of their songs. Personally, I disagree, but keep in mind that this is coming from someone that judges a song not by the 'message', but by how that song makes me feel. If a song makes my hair stand up, makes me start sweating, make me close my eyes and shake my head and/or makes me wanna move to the rhythm, that's how I can tell that's a good song.

As a Asian living on the other side of the planet, those songs with traditional instruments / non-English lyrics / unique styles are still going to stand out. In other words, I would not even have noticed UK, Spain or Norway, and Moldova and Ukraine will stand out. So Ukraine might still win. ;)

Eurovision used to be about presenting every country that's performing, sharing culture and getting to know those other countries little by little, showing off our diversity and beauty, so the videos would be showing all the performers countries destinations... this changed when Israel hosted Eurovision and decided, screw the other countries, this will all be a tourist advertisement for Israel.. and since then, Italy did it as well now. I find it selfish, inconsiderate and out of line of what Eurovision was supposed to be. Yes, Italy is beautiful, but just like Israel, this is stealing the other performers limelight and representation of their nation.

Apparently Moldova should have got 12 points from Romania, they were cut off and their 12 points went to Ukraine

In reality they got many points but EBU didn’t like the voting be auseMoldova was coming strong and making impossible for Ukraine to win. Hence they modified the votes given by 6 countries and splitting the 12p between Ukraine and UK, while the real votes of the jury were giving many points to Moldova 🇲🇩. This is the ugly truth that nobody wants to recognize on EBU!

I love it when countries sing in their own language instead of English. In Serbia you don't hear that often a song in Dutch for example. That way you get a chance to experience and explore some other cultures around the continent. That is what Eurovision is all about. Having fun and learning something about each others.

Comunque ho letto parecchie lamentele sull'esiguo numero di biglietti messi in vendita per l'ESC del 2023 dovuto al fatto che la capienza del palazzetto di Liverpool è limitata, e anche il palco per l'esibizione viene considerato troppo piccolo per l'importanza della manifestazione. Come vedi, nessuno è esente da critiche.

per onor di cronaca, va detto che il discorso del "sole rotto" è stato un bell'errore, come dicono gli inglesi un fail. Dovevano montarlo in anticipo in un capannone, provarlo in funzione e poi rimontarlo definitivamente al PalaOlimpico, visto che era così ambizioso. Bene (grazie al direttore della fotografia che ha fatto i miracoli per illuminare la parte "buia"), non benissimo sicuramente, ma è una lezione sicuramente per futuri Eurovision da fare in Italia. La Svezia (o penso all'Olanda che ha avuto 2 anni per fare tutto al meglio!) e altri Paesi ospitano molto di frequente e, quindi, hanno tanta esperienza sulle spalle. La Rai era la prima volta di un Eurovision "moderno" dopo l'orrendo 1991 a Cinecittà. Diamogli tempo, faremo edizioni migliori.

I think Serbia was the first choice for a more knowledgeable, educated audience. The song is out of this world amazing, but it takes an intelligent person to fully appreciate it. The fact that it was snubbed by many juries, makes me wonder about their competence and motivation.
