That's exactly what the problem is. 95% of the viewers that vote in the Eurovision just vote for the first impression they've got from a performance. They only listen to the songs once and they make a very arguable judgement of the songs. For me this Spanish entry caught my eye right from the beginning and I did listen to all the songs 5 times to make my judgement. General public goes only for first impressions that's why real music is left behind unfortunately.

The main problem with this song is that it is Arab music, in a language that is not Castillian (aka Spanish). I assume it's Arabic, but I can't confirm. It's good music, but I cannot support it coming from Spain.

Flamenco was originated in Andalusia centuries ago (biggest influence were the gypsies that arrived 500-600 years ago). This is a song that tries to somewhat mix some kind of modern pop with flamenco, without much success in my opinion. I wish one year they send a proper flamenco artist/band, but I don't see that happening.

The 5 points are not indicative of the amount of people voted. It just means that her act didn't receive enough 12 point-scores to place higher than those with a lot of 12 point-scores. Absolutely beautiful to see Blanca Paloma singing this theme with such a talent and joy. Simply unforgettable. To be honest this type of folklore song is very difficult to understand more distance you are from Spain but still I was hypnotized by her vocals, she was the best singer of the night and it's probably not even close. Such a pure talent. Maybe that BIG5 concept is finally hurting BIG5, not be able to connect with audience more times than once (through semifinals) and also general public may not like the 'privilege' status. Don't fall into generic pop entries just for a case of points, Spain, keep sending us this art, Eurovision is already pretty cheap anyway so we need more brave countries to come with something special. Showing folkroric culture is the best thing one country can do on Eurovision, you're representing your country not imitating America. España 🇪🇸 quedó en 17° con 100 puntos. Portugal 🇵🇹 quedó en 23° con 59 puntos. Grecia ni estaba en la final.

Esto dice más de Europa que de España. Te atraiga o no esta propuesta, se palpa la calidad, la novedad, una puesta abstracta (eso sí), con una voz limpia y potente. Un instrumental místico, envolvente y atractivo. Una seriedad y pulcritud distinta al resto. Claramente habría ganado de haberse valorado la magia, el arte, y la fusión de una de las bases folclóricas del país representante con el toque electrónico, bien acoplados. La mejor canción de este año a nivel profesional, artístico, cultural y novedoso. A nivel comercial es otro cantar. De haber sido una Europa culta y cosmopolita, España queda en primer puesto sino de las 3 primeras posiciones. Quedar el último muestra un nivel cultural europeo paupérrimo, o una manipulación y corruptela escandalosa, o las 2 cosas (a saber).

El oído hay que educarlo. No todo el mundo es capaz de apreciar la belleza y la cantidad de matices de géneros como el flamenco, el fado, el canto lírico, entre muchos otros. No estamos hablando de piezas de corte pop básico, que todo el mundo es capaz de digerir por lo simples que son. Lo que se ha evidenciado es la falta de oído y cultura musical de la gente que vota en este concurso. Cuando estás familiarizado con la sonoridad de diferentes estilos musicales sabes apreciar si hay calidad o no la hay. Y no solo con Blanca Paloma, La Zarra y Brunette llevaban propuestas muy interesantes y han quedado bastante mal posicionadas. Eurovisión, des del inicio de siglo, ha dejado de ser el festival de la canción para convertirse en un festival de mamarracheo, con algunas propuestas de calidad y muchísimas otras completamente infumables.
