Annie's icy cool, emotional vocals help create a mystique and enchantment. 4. The production has held up; they didn't fall into many of the 80s production traps that now sound dated. 5. And, perhaps most importantly, Annie's biting, acerbic dissection of love. Yes, it's production quality that has never been equaled, and probably never will be. Even with today's technology and auto-tune etc... I think it would be very difficult to re-create the same atmosphere, and very unlikely the singing voice. Only Ultravox could get the same quality and lushness out of synths/rhythm boxes/FX etc...

I sometimes listen to this song with the bass cranked all the way down or turned up to where I can baaarely feel the woofer vibrate. I can't think of any other band where a significant number of their songs sound good with two different bass levels...

To me the greatest aspect of all the Annie Lennox videos and songs is that no two are the same. Each one stands on its own as a masterpiece in my non-musical opinion. I don't claim to have a great ear for music but if anyone says I don't like the Eurythmics or more specifically Annie Lennox then you're just not listening to the full body of work. She re-creates herself with every song and every note. She is amazing in my opinion. Her and Stevie Nicks have probably saved my life more than once. Amazing women, amazing voices, amazing messages!
