Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly line and also build a brand-new underground train station so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street and also make another brand new tunnel train station in Chingford and could they extend the DLR? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Scania N112, Volvo TD102KF, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner 6LXC and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Six carriages three accessible toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Hopefully the costs of time and money in building HS2 will not be in vain. I hope and pray that the building of HS2 in Britain will be a springboard for more high-speed lines elsewhere, say 140mph and 186mph lines. Can hyperloop technology be safely implemented on existing and new railway lines to help Britain's railways across the whole country? On matters of other railway lines in Britain, the West Coast Main Line and East Coast Main Line need more passing loops built, and in the south of England, the Portsmouth Direct Line would benefit from the building of a few extra passing loops, such as between Havant and Petersfield, Petersfield and the three-track and three-platform layout at Haslemere, and between Haslemere and Guildford where land allows, and some passing loops between Guildford and Woking. Building these passing loops will allow faster trains to overtake slower ones, and for passenger trains in general to overtake freight trains, and would allow improved service to all stations along the line. As I stand on my local station in the North of England waiting for my 1 train per hour I really appreciate this spending in the South - not!!!! Also the Scots living in Galashiels and Howick who would like to travel South without going via Edinburgh with the associated extra travel costs travelling north will also appreciate this spending in the South of england- not.
@RJSRdg2 жыл бұрын
The idea of going from North to South Wales is geographically impractical - yes, they could reopen Bangor-Afon Wen and Aberystwyth-Carmarthen, but it would still be much, much slower than going via the existing route. That's even before you allow for the fact that the route would be single track most of the way, and that the existing Cambrian Coast part of the route is vulnerable to the effects of the sea in places. Add to that, that if someone in North Wales wants to go to a big city for something, Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham are all much closer than Cardiff. The North-South Wales route is grounded more in thinly-veiled racism than in any practicality.
@JohnSmith-bx8zb2 жыл бұрын
@@RJSRdg the Welsh north south route it is not grounded in racism. Most Costal Routes anywhere do have problems but they are not insurmountable. Only the section north from Aberystwyth to Afon Wen is alongside the costal and is in use daily. The times from Bangor / Holyhead to Aberystwyth would be quicker using the reopened route, increasing options for travellers and using less fuel. Yes most of the route would be single track but many km of single track inter city routes in Switzerland are the norm and speed is maintained. Closer to home the Scottish Boarders Railway has long sections of single track and that was dismissed at the concept stage by London as a ‘white elephant’, they were famously proved wrong. It’s not all about HS2, the only thing HS2 is building is resentment in many areas of the uk where rail infrastructure needs to be improved.
