Hi guys very good video. In the power calculation you might want to correct the formula to add the power needed to accelerate the car from 0-60km/h. Power to accelerate Pacc=mass * acceleration = m * dv/dt where m is mass of the car, dv is variation of speed from 0 to 60km/h that is 0 - 16.67m/s, and the dt is variation of time from 0 - to max time to achieve the speed - this is imposed say 5 sec. So Pacc = 700 kg * (16.67 ms/ divided by 5 sec) = 2334 Watts or 2.3 kW. If you considering only uniform movement (without any acceleration) that the formula is corect, just the Power to climb the gradient you need to multiply the gradient force (Fgrad = mass * 9.8acc * sin10) also with speed v (m/s) like you did for the rolling resistance and aerodinamic drag.

18:56 U havnt considered Diff. gear ratio of Tata Nano So Tmax = 51 x 3.45 x 4 = 704 Nm on wheel. Here 4 is rear wheel differential ratio. Now to put it other way, how not considering differential is wrong - Lets say Engine RPM 1500 then in 1st gear Wheel RPM = 1500÷3.45 = 434 Speed = 434 x 60 x 1.9 ÷ 1000 kmph = 49 kmph in 1st gear !!! possible ? Now divide this speed by Tata Nano diff. Ratio ~ 4:1 Speed = 12.5 kph....looks good

Sir ji aapne kaha ke tata nano ke wheel par max torque 150nm apply hota hai... But aapne final drive ratio se multiply kyun nhi kiya issey?? I mean differantial mein bhi to gear reduction hota hai aur tata nano ka final drive ratio 4.5 hai.... To max torque at wheels is 150x4.5 nm hogana? Wheel par max torque engine torque x 1st gear ratio x final drive ratio hota hai.... Correct me if i m wrong.... Thnk u
@motomanicevs4 жыл бұрын
As per my knowledge there is no gear reduction in differential... It's only allow the difference in speed for both wheel to make car turn ... So calculation of torque on wheel remain same.

Hi buddy, nice work. But I think the formula is wrong. You missed the velocity in the gradient term. It should be m*g*v*sin(10). Please correct if i am wrong
@motomanicevs4 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct. But this applicable when you want to drive bike in gradient with high speed only and resid on hilly area. Thus no need to calculate because the bldc motors take care of normal grading due to high torque. But if you want to add it increase the motor capacity. For more details you can refer my latest video on electric motorcycle design..

Hello nice too watch your video, i have an inquiry about the power required to run your tata Nano. According to your calculation the required power to achieve 60km/h is 9.2Kw and you used 3Kw BLDC motor in your project. What is the reason behind this? can you please explain. Appreciate your work
@motomanicevs4 жыл бұрын
9.2kw is the peak power requirement including rolling Resistance + air resistance + gradient resistance. In normal running only rolling + air resistance + nano weight reduction will be applicable so power requirement reduced. From power we have calculate the torque requirement. I am increasing the torque by increasing transmission ration. 3kw is the motor rated power but peak power is higher of that. ..
@abdulwasay70014 жыл бұрын
yes if we combine rolling and air resistance than according to your calculations it’s still 6-7KW and this power must be required to run the vehicle at this speed and i am now considering that this motor must have the peak power of 6-7Kw . Thank you for the prompt answer really love to learn from your videos

@motomanicevs4 жыл бұрын
Yes if you have DC clamp meter than you can get the average current taken by motor and that p=vi.
@Alex-rn8mh4 жыл бұрын
hi or you can theoretically calculate it. Take motor power needed to run the 700 kg car @ 60km/h, say 10kWh like in calculation video. That means that you consume 10kWh energy of power for 1h to move the car. That is 10KWh. In this time you drive a distance of 60km @ speed of 60km/h. So you use this 10kWh worth of energy for 60km which means that your car is consuming 10kWh/60km just about 0.16kWh per each kilometer you travel. One you calculate what is your energy consumption at a given speed, in this case 0.16kWh/km @ speed of 60km/h than you multiply by the distance you consider to travel and that is total energy consumption for the travel, so 50km x 0.16kWh / km equals a total energy consumption of 8.33 kWh for this travel. Now add 20% on top of this (because you can only use on 80% of the battery capacity considering Li-Ion chemistry batteries) and you can dimension the capacity of you battery needed to make the travel . So 8.33 kWh x 1.2 = 10 kWh minimum capacity of the battery that you need to install in the car and charge to be able to make the journey of 50km. Hope it helps. Good luck!
