EV Road Trip - Towing a Teardrop Trailer 1,000 Miles to the Grand Canyon and Back with a Chevy Bolt!

Just another Bolt road trip with the trailer to a big hole in the ground somewhere in Arizona. Weather and efficiency were much better this time.

It's so ironic I've been to every electrify America that you showed in the video. Even Najas Oasis. Nearby the Oasis there is the Mitchell Caverns absolutely stunning. I love them more than the Grand Canyon you have to have an appointment but it's well worth it if you ever go back that way definitely got to go see them.

That's definitely something we can do in a day trip. We went from Riverside to Las Vegas and back in a day trip so we will have to do that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great video!jkj Definitely thinking at the beginning "arriving mid-week seems like a good idea", I just didn't know how much of a good idea. I will say in my travels sometimes the EA app - or perhaps my phone - gets confused and has a hard time activating. Coming out of Yosemite it kept thinking I was closer to Reno than where we were.

Good video but if I was traveling I wouldn't appreciate you blocking several chargers. MPH makes all the difference, so that would've been good info.

We don't block any chargers when others need them. Each time we have parked across chargers no one ever showed up. If we cannot park the trailer there we drop it off in a regular parking spot. MPH and the usage is going to vary based on the weight of what you are towing so that would not really be useful information. Also MPH depends on where you are driving. We are going the speed limit.v

Do you know what your hitch weight was? Looks like you got a lot of stuff on the hitch. Also, what’s the hitch limit for the bolt?

Trailer plus gear is approximately 1,900 lbs. Bolt is rated to tow "zero" but handles this just fine. The trailer *should* have been level, but we were having issues with our airbags leaking :( The stuff on top of the hitch is just an empty camp toilet and the big plastic box has a toaster oven in it. Doesn't actually weigh all that much, just large.
