This is perhaps the best vocal performance from Eva, it's nice to hear her singing in so tenderly in Spanish ! Her sax solos are among my favorites - she reminds me most of Branford Marsalis, except they both would choose different lines to play - she's certainly top notch. It would be fantastic if she could play with greater orchestration, a ten piece band - it seems that in todays music world, this is all but impossible. So sad, if she could work with her former band mates from SAJB and could afford to have arrangements of Joan Monné, that would be out of this world!

I've always thought that Eva was the best sax player to go through the SAJB. That's not a slam dunk, because there have been some super sax players over the years, but that's my personal opinion. She has a rare combination of talent playing the instrument, innate improvisational ability, and something elusive I'll just call soul, that I just don't see in anyone else. And of course, she has a great voice as well. She's the real deal!

This is an exquisite jewel of a composition and performance. I love it so. Eva, your jazz is so melodic, the delivery so quiet and deadpan, that the when the sparks fly its extra specially delicious. We'll need more, please.

Completely agree with all the comments here. Eva Fernandez is a first-rate artist. Let’s talk about her tonality - she starts off picking a note out of thin air and perfectly in key - and her rhythms - she sets the pace here and it swings and moves about so beautifully, immediately establishing a fine guitarist as her accompanist rather than a rhythm section she needs to follow. Her sax playing is, as someone below says, at the level of international jazz stars. I only wish it were easier to hear her performances.
