Eva Gabrielsson

Eva Gabrielsson, the widow of Swedish crime writing phenomenon Stieg Larsson speaks about his life, his writing and his legacy. Gabrielsson is joined by ABC Melbourne’s Jon Faine.
Eva, an architect and author of several books, discusses her memoir, Stieg and Me. Stieg and Me tells the story of Eva and Stieg’s 30-year romance, of Stieg’s life-long struggle to expose Sweden’s neo-Nazis, of his fight to keep Expo, the magazine he founded, solvent, and his difficult relationships with his immediate family. She talks of the genesis of the Millennium trilogy, the sources for the characters and places in each book, the mystery of the fourth volume, the saga of Larsson’s death, and his legacy.
Finally, responding to audience questions, she ponders where her life might be today had she not become embroiled in a protracted dispute with Larsson’s family, and considers WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s legal fate in her home of Sweden.

Wow, in just a few minutes of watching this I am already put off with the interviewer - he clearly lacks the ability to look deeper. 'Admiring Eva and again, I am only into this three minutes!!! Interviewer seems to berate Eva for loving the character of Lisbeth! Seriously?!?!?!?!????????? ~To me, this interviewer only reveals his own issues and lack of understanding of intelligent, honest and very strong women! Lisbeth being "damaged" is just a part of who she is - her being "damaged" led to her incredible strength, wisdom, honesty and ability to see the truth in things - so her being "damaged" served her well as anyone can turn any negatives into positives. But this interviewer won't get that I don't think... Each of us are a product of every single thing in our lives = the good, the bad, the ugly. ~~Bravo Eva, you handled his clear judgments of you with finesse and class! ~I'm with ya Eva - I love Lisbeth too!!! Bec you and I and TONS of other blessed souls out here have the gift to look beyond the surface!!! Have loving feelings for Lisbeth, and also for you Eva and your late love Steig whom I also have loving feelings for!!! I'm SO sorry you lost him and sorry also that he did not have a will naming you. ... ~Gonna continue watching and listening... More comments from me later, when have watched whole thing...
