Castellano is a synonym of Spanish. It's also the accent of the Spanish spoken in the north of the territories of the old Kingdom of Castilla (where Madrid, capital of Spain is located), hence the name. The south of Spain has a different accent, the Andaluz accent. Different accents, same Language.
