YES! When I saw it live in June, she was literally slamming her hands on the stage and was practically hunching up into a ball. I was bawling

SOBBING CRYING SCREAMING THROWING UP. This won’t be the same without her. I was lucky enough to see this before Covid and she was there and I promise you nothing compared. She should be so so proud of herself.

In a musical FULL of great songs, this one is near the top for me. Every word is perfect. When I saw her perform this song a few months ago for the first time it was so compelling that I didn't want to breathe...the theater was so quiet, hanging on every word and note she sang. A gifted actress and musician.

Absolutely devastating and completely haunting. 2:26 onwards is so difficult to listen to as she just tries to make it through. What transcending talent.

You can hear the tears near the end. God I wish I was there that night.

she’s such genius for going off timing towards the end

I don’t know if it was intentional. I think she was genuinely struggling to get through it emotionally.
@yasermimidin49584 ай бұрын
@@JackieRossLavender it definitely was intentional it was a singing choice to show the desperation and raw emotion of the scene
@JackieRossLavender4 ай бұрын
@@yasermimidin4958 how do you know this though? Sounds way more like an actually emotional experience of singing this song for the last time rather than an acting choice…
@yasermimidin49583 ай бұрын
@@JackieRossLavender I would belive it’s intentional becuase this is her profession lol

I saw her in this role 3 times and it was a different performance each time. Always goosebumps and tears inducing every single time. This was her holy grail of a song. Until her next role. ❤

Eva Noblezada is a master at raw emotive singing- especially mixing ugly emotive sounds with beautiful technical singing. Her performance in Miss Saigon (as problematic as the foundation of that show is) is absolutely devastating and beautiful. She brought this level of pain every single performance. I don’t really know much about Hadestown but this is exactly the same level of control (if not even more perfected) that she had in Miss Saigon. The clips of her rehearsal in The Great Gatsby are looking promising too!

She’s a Broadway legend in the making. Truly some of the best vocals I have ever heard on every role she’s played.

Watched Hadestown Broadway TWICE already (March and June 2023). Both Eva’s performances were phenomenal!! For those planning of watching Hadestown.. I recommend staying on the left side of the the orchestra when facing the stage! You will thank me after!

I was so lucky we got to go on July 25, it was Persephone's last night. I was just thrilled that we didn't plan our trip a month later. This is so pure and moving. Thanks for sharing it!

If you can make it to New Jersey she is in a new production of The Great Gatsby at Papermill Playhouse with Jeremy Jordan (newsy fame) but it's only showing until November.

Awe, was anyone there? Was Eva holding it together? She sounds beautiful, but there's so much emotion in her voice, even for Flowers.

Yes. She held it together. Lots of tears and emotion but Eva channeled it into Eurydice. She is pro. Epic performance.

She held it together but you could tell she was fighting back tears for a significant portion of the show. There were standing ovations both when she came out at the beginning and when she finished Flowers.
@enya260010 ай бұрын
What show were you all watching lol maybe we have different ideas of what holding it together means. I mean Eva didn't stop the show like Sara Bareilles did at her last she used to be mine, but she wasn't that far off either. She cried from start to finish, as did the rest of the cast. And I don't mean crying like the acting crying with the a few tears... this was full deal throat engaged raw emotion crying. And it was beautiful.
