This pictorial presentation is a tribute to the inspiring saintly life of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj (1865-1951). From childhood, his devotion, spiritual insights and determination to uphold the truth were evident. He revived the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan doctrine revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781-1830) in the Vachanamrut and boldly enshrined this Vedic principle in the central shrine of majestic mandirs. Today, Brahmaswaup Shastriji Maharaj is revered worldwide as the founder of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, which continues to promote this unique practical path of spirituality taught by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
Part 4 resumes the story of Swami Yagnapurushdasji (Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj) as he promotes the true Akshar-Purushottam Darshan doctrine of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Intense opposition to Shastriji Maharaj's efforts continued even after he had separated from the Vartal diocese. Yet, his saintliness, steadfastness and single-mindedness did not waver.
He traveled tirelessly throughout the villages, guiding and inspiring the devotees and strengthening their faith and spiritual understanding. Despite unending hardships and extremely limited resources, he consecrated a stone shikharbaddha mandir, the first BAPS mandir, in Bochasan in 1907. He enshrined the murtis of Parabrahman Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami in the central shrine, in accordance with the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan doctrine.
He was joined in furthering the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan doctrine by Swami Jnanjivandasji (later known as Yogiji Maharaj). Subsequently, Shastriji Maharaj consecrated a grand mandir in Sarangpur (1916) and thereafter acquired land to build a mandir in Gondal.
