After about two years of usage I can say that this a really good quality running backpack. There are only few minor drawbacks that I can point out. The plastic hook location isn't convinient enough, at least for me. I'd prefer to have it somewhere lower and I reattached it to the second strap. Straps tend to rub against a t-sthirt so that it can be spoiled in one race. I wrapped them with a sticky-tape. And the last one. It's not trivial to attach lightweight running poles to the backpack since loops are too huge for them. I attach my poles on the backside putting one end into the bottom pocket and fixing the other end by the upper loop. Overall, it's a nice backpack and a great value for money. Thanks for the review James.

I have the 5L version and I love it! Didn’t expect much due to the low price but it does everything I need it to do, can’t complain

Hey James, thanks for the review, it has been really useful! I wasn’t sure about the backpack, but now I’m absolutelly getting it. I’m not much of a trailer runner myself, but it’ll be a great thing for my one-day hiking trips.

I am 74kg and 180cm, fitted the M-L in-store on max setting, and bottom strap is only just too tight for me, i will get annoyed running with it. Fitted XL and seems to be good fit.

Nice quality pack with plenty of pockets to store all my goodies... I have the 15 liter pack, which I often use on my day hikes and jungle trail runs. It fits well for the most part and doesnt shift around much once properly adjusted to my body. But, i also found that the neck collar area of the pack and the hard black plastic waterpack sealer painfully rubs on my upper neck area. It can get very uncomfortable very quickly when hard plastic rubs on you the wrong way. Definitely would like to see the waterpack sealer get upgraded to something softer.

Some people say the water from the bladder tastes of plastic and it doesn't get better with time. What's your experience like?
@jessicawood50223 жыл бұрын
Great review! I really want to get into longer-distance trail running and the amount of kit available is just so overwhelming (and expensive!), so this is really helpful. Is the pack waterproof? Or would you need to use a drybag inside the pack to keep things dry?
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Withstands a little shower bit would definitely recommend an internal dry bag for valuables

Hi please answer this!! I am looking specifically for a super small/ light weight breathable running backpack that wont bounce...but only for a pair of thick jeans and a tshirt. I keep trying to research it but no one is suggesting what I need. I dont need a hydration pack, but I need something small. It's just to run from my place of work to home. Everything ppl suggests is either too big, too bouncy, too pinchy, not breathable, or is just a hydration pack. Thank you of you answer, it would help a lot!
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Hi there ! Decathlon do make a smaller , lighter version of this pack with a 5 litre capacity , other than that you would probably be looking at a waist pack that sits on your hips. I've found that these tend to bounce around a lot more though !

I find the water bladder sloshes around too much and is very noisy. Any solutions?.

When filled turn it upside down and suck out any spare air bubbles then move the mouthpiece to off

What is the biggest bladder that fits in the bag?
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Hey , the bladder section isn't too big , it comes with a 1litre bladder but you can fit a 1.5 in . I tried a 2l decathlon bladder and it was too tall . Thanks , James

Great review ! Just wondering at what distance run do you think it becomes essential to have a bag/vest like this one over a running belt?
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Hey ! depends on each person but I use a belt for phone , keys etc on anything shorter. As soon as I'm carrying water with me or a spare jacket I usually swap to this 10k or over for me personally. James

How does it compare to the previous kalenji one? I have the previous one. Is there any features that this new one has that the previous one doesn't?
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Similar features but the newer version has more easily accessible storage I'd say , especially up front. The use of a stretchy material also makes it more stable and less bouncy I've found.

Hey, I ordered the XS/S and the M/L and the smaller one is a bit tight and the other one is a bit loose on the smallest setting. I'm 160cm/65kg. Which one to choose? (Very) tight fit or some extra space? Maybe other women can help me as well? That would be very helpful, Thank you so much! :)
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Hmm it's personal preference for you really , have you tried them with the pack full ? As that tends to make them fit a lot tighter.

I am 77kg and 178cm, and got recommend the XL on the website, but it's only because of one number, if I lower it by 1 cm I get recommended the M/L, do you think I should still get the XL?or M/L?
@james-moves3 жыл бұрын
Hey ! Obviously depends on individual body shape somewhat but my measurements are very close to yours and I personally find the M/L fits well and there's still some room to loosen straps , James

XL is much too big. I'm 100kg and 179cm and big in the chest and I bought the XL but it's too big for me even on the tightest setting!
@ricardoocruz3 жыл бұрын
@@jordy46682 That's strange, because I actually ended up buying it like 1 month ago, size XL and it fits me good and I am 178 and right now 76kg, but I use it close to the tightest setting. It fits me fine without anything and it fits me very good when I fill it up with water
@jordy466823 жыл бұрын
@@ricardoocruz actually I think you are right! I must have bought a "mistake". I just went to decathlon yesterday and tried on several 10L and 15L and all of the m/l size were much too small and the XL was the right size with still room to adjust the straps to make it tighter. So I must have just got a bit unlucky with a larger XL the first time that I now can't tighten anymore!

I'm 5'11 79kgs with broad shoulders and no way did a M/L come close to fitting me. I opted for the XL when I took into account how tight the vest would become when you filled the pockets and bladder.
@mattiti85232 жыл бұрын
Yeah they fit very snugly. I'm 74 kg and there's no way I could fit in the M/L if I'm wearing an extra layer.
