Love this explanation, sending to some of my students who need extra examples, but PLEASE have an angle with your trig functions when writing the final answers. It should say cosine of theta = ; a trig function cannot exist without an angle, and this depends on the angle you assigned to the inverse at the beginning. Thanks for the video!

Totally agree with you! Thanks for the suggestion. I shoot all the videos in one take with no editing, and I sometimes get a little sloppy with my mathematical notation. For my own students, we talk about those incidences in class, but for everyone else, they are missing that one-on-one discussion.

Thank you so much, if I could donate I would! I have a fine math teacher, but her accent is really heavy and she moves really fast and I'm too timid to ask her to explain more. Your explanation was great, thank you so much!

Lot of videos on easy problems. Why no video on hard problems - e.g. how to calculate sin π/17 ?

If you rewrote both of them as, example for 2nd, cot(arcsin(2/5))=sqrt21/2 instead of cos = sqrt21/2, it would look better and possibly more clear.

I agree. I did not do my normal notation when I made this video. I rushed it because I was going to be absent from school and needed the video very quickly.
@gary3ward6 жыл бұрын
Do not rush! The things I love about your site is that your examples are clear, concise and complete. I understand though (retired teacher, now subbing). Thank you for doing what you do.
@ColesWorldofMathematics6 жыл бұрын
So true I should not rush. I’m missing this entire week of school because my father had surgery, so I am taking the week to help with his recovery. I wanted my Calc students to have a video on it as opposed to just written notes because of how much they had struggled with the topic in Pre-Calc. I put it in the Calculus curriculum just as a review before we start inverse trig derivatives, so it is an “extra” review, but “extra” every hurt anyone, right? lol

I hope your father is doing well. The Organic Chemist gives pretty good videos and examples of most math subjects: That may be surprising because of the title. He is good and gives a lot of examples, but he is a messy writer.
