In today's episode of our daily sheep farming vlog at Ewetopia Farms, we are thrilled to introduce you to a delightful pair of twin Dorset ram lambs. These adorable lambs were born without any assistance from us, showcasing the natural instincts of their mother. We carefully transferred them from the lambing pen to the bonding jugs, where they were nourished, and their navel cords were treated with iodine to prevent any bacterial infections. The application of iodine not only acts as a disinfectant but also aids in the quick drying of the cord. These lambs truly exemplify the qualities we strive for in our breeding program, and we take the time to discuss their exceptional attributes.
Additionally, we provide an update on our Suffolk lambs, who have started consuming creep feed. You'll also get a glimpse of the Dorset lambs enjoying their favorite pastime - playing on their jumping box. While tending to our lambs in the barn, we address some holes under the feeders that mischievous lambs were using as an escape route. Furthermore, we share the latest developments regarding our orphan lamb and provide insights into our decision-making process regarding the removal of the prolapse harness from our ewe, who recently experienced a prolapse.
Join us as we carry out our daily chores and keep you informed about the well-being of all our lambs. #SheepFarming #DorsetLambs #ewetopiafarms
