Hello Michael and Carl, I'm currently taking self-paced online classes, and the current subject is Alternative Investments and Derivatives. I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around evaluating the various types of option investments along with the effective use of options as speculative investments and as hedging instruments. Also, the characteristics and uses of futures. Do you have any suggestions on videos, reading material or anything that I could learn that has this material Dumbed down for me to understand? Thanks

Hi Artist, Michael and Carl don't monitor these comments too closely - Michael will pop in sometimes but he's a busy man. I'd highly recommend talking with ChatGPT as it's actually a great teaching tool. As derivatives are well documented, ChatGPT should have very few reasons to hallucinate when discussing the concepts with you. Further, I'd recommend you explore real world application of the reading material. A good example: ask ChatGPT: "Could you show me the impact of buying a Call Option on an Apple share if I own one Apple Share already. Show me in table form. Include great gains and losses." then "Okay great, can you show me the impact of buying a Put Option if I own an Apple Share." Play with real world scenarios and investments and build on your understanding rather than staying in the theoretical.
